Efforts to silence Rush Limbaugh are apparently having a significant impact on the talk radio business as a whole, including syndicated radio shows hosted by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck.
After provocative comments made about a female Georgetown law school student, Limbaugh's show has been targeted by liberal groups that have pressured more than two dozen advertisers to drop his program from their ad buys.
Now, Rush's syndicator, Premiere Networks, is losing advertisers for other conservative programs it airs.
According to an internal Premiere memorandum obtained by Radio-Info.com, the company says 98 advertisers no longer wanted to air ad spots on any "offensive or controversial" talk programs.
Radio-Info says the list of advertisers include "carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm) and restaurants (McDonalds, Subway)."

Hannity parties it up down in Orlando, too. Maybe, he they both should show some spine and put their standards where their wallet and heart are?
There use to be a great website, www.buyblue.org but it’s not around anymore. I frequented the site so I would know where not to shop.
Sucks that I drive a Toyota and my car and home insurance is State Farm.
It’s sarcasm. Go back and look at Mountainlion’s numbers.
98 out of 18,000.
Mountainlion is using sarcasm
I pulled the plug on my support for Susan G Komen organization when I learned of their support for leftwing Planned Parenthood.
I don’t support GE, GM, Progressive Insurance, Ben and Jerry’s, and I try not to buy Made in China stuff.
“No one from the U.S. government has attemped to stop Rush from speaking his mind.”
Well it isnt the govt doing it officially. The organizations pushing it are the same ones controlled by BO and the left.
War.
Here is the story.

In 2 days, Carbonite stock fell -12%.
Screw em.
Let these companies survive without customers.
See how they do selling to OWS clowns. The only product they buy is delicing powder.
Remember the days they started as a conservative organization? They kept getting money from Soros, they caved.
Great $$$ business decision. Now they are just irreverent as the other lefties.
An excerpt of the Premiere memo follows:
To all Traffic Managers:
The information below applies to your Premiere Radio Networks commercial inventory. More than 350 different advertisers sponsor the programs and services provided to your station on a barter basis. Like advertisers that purchase commercials on your radio station from your sales staff, our sponsors communicate specific rotations, daypart preferences and advertising environments they prefer Theyve specifically asked that you schedule their commercials in dayparts or programs free of content that you know are deemed to be offensive or controversial (for example, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity). Those are defined as environments likely to stir negative sentiment from a very small percentage of the listening public.

How about the president telling the Republicans during one of their first meetings that they shouldn’t listen to Rush Limbaugh because “that’s not the way we do business here”. How about the president pointing out FOX by name and saying they were not a real news station. I could go on.......

RICO violation?
These tyrants are just anti-freedom.
Exactly... Just like the Dixie Chicks pissed off their primary audience, and their sales plummeted. Of course, in this case, Rush managed to piss off the people who DO NOT listen to his show or his advertisers. So the advertisers who left are abandoning some 20 million possible customers a week, for people who don't listen the the advertisements anyway!
Mark
So a member if of the US Senate is trying to remove him from a single radio station. But they are not putting under house arrest, or anything else that other countries do against someone expressing views that the government disagrees with. He’s not going to jail. So some rep has started a petition. That rep is not exersizing legal authority to remove him from the air. They don’t like what he’s saying, so they are trying to get the public on their side. They’ve never liked him. But they are not using their authority as elected officials to do anything about it. It’s like if Gingrich started a petitian to get Randi Rhoads or Bill Mahr off the air. No legal authority. Just his fame.
Have any of you ever heard a ‘national’ network commercial for McDonald’s, et al on Rush?
Nope. The majority of advertisers have always wanted to stay away from Conservative talk...too controversial. What they’re doing is coming out and trying to make themselves look good, when they’ve never run commercials on these shows in the first place.
As a Ops manager for a radio cluster, I received no less than 3 email blasts from Dial-Global, a huge network, reminding us that their client spots don’t air in the show’s stopsets..
A lot of hubbub about nothing.
A lot of insignificant chest-pounding by these morons..
I will be with Progressive till the end of my last 6 month period with them. I had an accident almost 3 years ago and state farm TRIPLED my rates because I was “at fault” (yup.. alright. even though the car pulled out in front of me....)
Progressive was 300 dollars every 6 months cheaper than all other quotes. I’ll admit it. I got in bed with them because they where so cheap.
However, I should get good rates from others once it hits 3 years. I’ll be trying my best to dump them for a more friendly company. Even if it costs a bit more. (I gotta draw the line. 300 dollars is a lot of money. 600 a year is even more)
Also I hate to say it, but Progressives claim service has been top notch. Got my windshield replaced in 24 hours and a not at fault accident (wife hit someone who slid out in front of her) was settled in days. (both parties had progressive)
If not for their politics I’d stay with them.
