CNN story: Gingrich says gas prices a problem for Obama

......"Gingrich said the GOP would not be harmed by the controversy surrounding radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, who this week used incendiary language to describe a law student after she testified in a Congressional hearing over contraception coverage. Limbaugh apologized for the remarks Saturday.

"The Republican Party has four people running for president, none of whom is Rush Limbaugh," Gingrich said. "One of them will end up as the nominee, and that person will be the Republican spokesman. I don't think any of them were involved in this controversy at all.".....

Thinking about it last night, Rush probably was told by his lawyers that using the term “Prostitute” could cause him some issues. Slut could be argued is just his opinion, however, “Prostitute” is a criminal activity and not just a matter of opinion.

Rush should have stuck with Slut and added on Political Whore, Nancy Pelosi’s Floozy, Congressional Tramp, Dingbat, etc..

(anyway, Sluts can’t be Prostitutes until they pass the Bar Exam).

Much as I like Newt, I would strongly suggest he avoid offering any commentary or opinions on promiscuous individuals (of any gender)regardless of circumstances.
Rush can take care of himself.
The GOP has difficulty finding it’s posterior with both hands.

God, I love Newt. Such a gift to break things down so that even the most obtuse liberal can’t dispute it.

Rush should if he hasnt already, state the facts about this so called college student. Is she not a lawyer, 30 years old and an activist associated with know activists for this purpose, list the many times Palin and Bachmann and other conservative women were called sluts by other commentators and demand thier apologies also.

March 3rd - Bowling Green, OH ..."Asked by reporters here about Mr. Limbaugh’s comments, the former House speaker responded, “I don’t even know. I wasn’t involved in the conversation.” He continued, “I will say that the news media seems far more eager to talk about Rush Limbaugh’s language than they are to talk about the Barack Obama’s apology to the people who are killing Americans.” That was a reference to President Obama’s apology to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for U.S. troops who burned Qurans, sparking deadly protests in Afghanistan."

Where are the Newt fans/Rick haters? Rick called the comments “absurd” and was attacked on here because he didn’t support Rush’s comments. People even made comments he wasn’t tough enough to be President. Now Newt says that Rush is right to apologize, therefore also publically disagreeing with the comments, and we’ll likely not hear a peep.

Gingrich is unquestionably my candidate at this point and I hope Super Tuesday marks his latest comeback.

I watched the interview, and Newt did great at not letting Candy cow him into going on defense. He went right after Obama.

Long time Rush fans (me included) appreciate his illustrating absurdity with absurdity. But, he has been around long enough to know his adversaries are ready to pounce on any opportunity to discredit him... a better choice of words or less words, may have been served him and us better. Remember, he only has a 96.6% accuracy record... so there will be a misstep from time to time.

"Gingrich said the GOP would not be harmed by the controversy surrounding radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, who this week used incendiary language to describe a law student after she testified in a Congressional hearing over contraception coverage.

If, after saying something like the above, they published the few sentences that gave rise to their depiction of them as "incendiary," most people would say, "Huh? That's all he said? What's going on that certain people have become so emotionally deranged over it?"
What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. (interruption [from Bo Snerdly]) The johns? We would be the johns? No! We're not the johns. (interruption [from Bo Snerdly]) Yeah, that's right. Pimp's not the right word. Okay, so she's not a slut. She's "round heeled." I take it back."
What's going on is that in one short segment he ridiculed the left's two main sacraments of life: 1. Screwing whomever, wherever, whenever, for whatever reason (as long as conception is prevented or at least ended by abortion), and not being called to task about any of it because it's their right, and 2. Making someone else pay for whatever they have declared to be their right.

Another week gone, another round of Sunday morning talk shows spent answering questions like “Are Republicans declaring war on women?” and “Does Rush Limbaugh speak for the Republican Party?” instead of Obama’s crappy record, the terrible economy, the huge federal deficit and debt problems, Iran getting nukes, etc.

It’s bad enough that the Republican candidates even appear on these Democrat-run round-table shows every week, but by letting liberal hacks like Stephanapolus and Gregory set the agenda they fall further into the trap of the left to keep the focus away from where it belongs: on Obama and his horrible record.

Rush was using the “absurd” to make a point. He always does that. This is an election year. That is the difference.

This woman may, or may not, be a slut. But she is a political whore. That should be the focus now.

Birth Control pills can’t fix that.

In this case, Santorum was right. Just the way it is.

Ahh the great GOP, spineless, gutless wonders throwing Rush under the bus. The likes of Gingrich, Santorum & Romney, et al. show their true leadership capabilities. Maybe its because neither ever served in the military where you learn what LOYALTY is. You can bet that whoever gets the nomination will be just as timid in attacking the “messiah” for fear of being called a racist.

How come ? some have praised Newt for his comments about Rush apologizing AFTER the fact ?
But bash Rick for being bold enough to say it before hand ?
I real leader takes bold steps... not reacting after the fact.

In regards to all the companies who abandoned Rush.

Rush may charge high rates for these start up companies to run ad’s on his program but there is a good reason for it...they become national brands.

Once the become national brands they have to sell to ALL the people, regardless of political affiliations or those with no political views at all.

Once politics have been attached to their products, they have no choice but back off just to stay in business. How many times have we heard the old saying IT IS NOT PERSONAL, IT’S JUST BUSINESS?

Rush is fully aware of this and probably has had personal conversations, beforehand, with these companies in regards to their decisions. If Rush is the man I believe him to be, he won’t blame them but where it belongs...on the very core of what started this scandal and his, heat of the moment, choice of words.

I know many of us, in our rush to defend Rush, went after the regime’s latest naive puppet of the left with a vengeance and I was among them. When Rush apologized, we felt betrayed and then in our fury we attacked him.

As heated rhetoric cools, we have to keep in mind it should not be personal...it’s just business and, more importantly, how radicals conduct their business.
