For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.
My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.
Rush’s accusation:
“And then there is this story from the Cybercast News Service. Here’s it is. February 29th, Leap Day:
“A Georgetown co-ed told Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s hearing that the women in her law school program are having so much sex that they’re going broke, so you and I should pay for their birth control. Speaking at a hearing held by Pelosi to tout Pres. Obama’s mandate that virtually every health insurance plan cover the full cost of contraception and abortion-inducing products, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke said that it’s too expensive to have sex in law school without mandated insurance coverage. Apparently, four out of every ten co-eds are having so much sex that it’s hard to make ends meet if they have to pay for their own contraception, Fluke’s research shows.”
Can you imagine if you’re her parents how proud of Sandra Fluke you would be? Your daughter goes up to a congressional hearing conducted by the Botox-filled Nancy Pelosi and testifies she’s having so much sex she can’t afford her own birth control pills and she agrees that Obama should provide them, or the Pope. “’Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy (Georgetown student insurance not covering contraception), Fluke reported. It costs a female student $3,000 to have protected sex over the course of her three-year stint in law school, according to her calculations.
‘Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school,’ Fluke told the hearing. $3,000 for birth control in three years? That’s a thousand dollars a year of sex — and, she wants us to pay for it.” All of this just since January 7th. Just since January 7th. You guys who are thinking you’re not gonna go to college? Let me just say one thing to you: Georgetown. They’re admitting before congressional committee that they’re having so much sex they can’t afford the birth control pills! That’s all you gotta come up with. And all of this is the Republicans’ fault.”
Great apology to an admitted slut!
Rush was not the cause of this problem. The cause of this problem is that there are many women (married and single) who use contraceptives and engage in sex. Sex is a gift, but it is for the purpose of procreation. Women who defy God’s will and plan are, as Rush says, sluts. The time has come in this country for the men to take back their women. The answer is not to criticize Rush. It is to reclaim our moral stature in this country.
Amen to that!
Well, Rush, the gutless RINOs and all the surrender monkeys can wave white flags. You leftists come into my territory and you’ll meet the perfect storm. Time to rock ‘n roll.
Except she didn't do that.
Look pal, I'm generally a Rush fan and have been a listener since abt 1990. He's clearly wrong to have stated this this way based on what she actually said.
But but but it so much easier to sit here and whine because the guy you were counting on did something you didn't agree with....waaahhhh!!!
Exactly!!!
And surprise, surprise....Beck's projects are doing nothing but expanding!
I was going to post that quote, but you beat me to it. It is who he is, first and foremost.
Can they be removed?
Everyone needs to calm down over this issue and not turn on eachother, We have been divided enough by obama and his cronies.
Rush is a talkshow host who expresses his opinion. He is on the radio to talk about current issues which is the same thing we do here. What we must not do is become so dependant on these people that we quit forming our own opinions.
If one of us steps out of line here or goes out of bounds we get banned which is Jims right, but our first obligation is to protect Jim and his staff. No different than Rush and his staff. Or, if Jim were to post something out of line and the dems would be screaming to pull his site if he doesn’t apologize, how many of us would be screaming for him to apologize so the site wouldn’t be taken away. Think about it.
We think for ourselves, we know what she is, and we have enough problems with division thanks to obama. Let’s not make it worse.
Back at ya tiger
freedomtrail fails to perceive.sad
I still support Rush and will continue to listen to him. Shooting our own when they are in trouble only helps our enemies and doesn't do a damn thing to win the war for us. With your attitude, I sure wouldn't want to be in a foxhole with you.
NO IT'S NOT!!! IT is to protect the Country and the Constitution as our first obligation.
I can't believe i read such a thing on this site. Sheesh!
That’s my take on it as well.
I think I can speak to this since I also lost an ovary to cysts. With the one remaining ovary I went through in vitro (blocked tubes) and had twins. So, in my opinion, unless there is something wrong with the remaining ovary, her friend is full of it.
