The mother knew that her boyfriend was an abusive thug who had repeatedly physically abused her child in the past, but she let him babysit her child anyway, and now the child is dead. I’d say that morally, the mother is just as guilty as the person who actually killed the child.

Agreed. In these types of cases the mother - if you can call her that - belongs in jail also.
That poor child. Prayers for him and his younger brother that had to witness this horrible event.
The saddest thing is that his female parental unit arrived home at 10pm and her son was still breathing. She didn’t call 911 until 11:45 pm at which time the boy was dead.
This child may have been able to be saved had she reacted like a relatively concerned parent.
not that women can't be horrid as well...I just think the stakes are too high to have non biologically attached males around children...
we had a young man of 22 living with and "babysitting" two young boys....well....he killed the mother and the two boys, then shot himself.....but why have this person around?...he had a criminal background and all....

yes she is just a guilty as he is...what is it with women that they need a boyfriend that beats her kids. She should be sterilized so she doesn’t bring another child into the world for another boy friend to murder...scum reproduce and make the child scum by her actions and the cycle keeps going on....most of the prisoners come from single mother homes with siblings from several different men. All are probably on the tax payers dime. Females should learn to keep their legs from spreading for every thug that wants in...they are truly disgusting...
Sad too say in most states the kids in cases like this eventually go back to the mother. The courts and agencies which are supposed to step in and protect the children are instead focused on the mother and a perverse reunification agenda.
These are NOT cases where the mothers may have an actual mental illness but rather they are cases of the mother and usually the father of the children don't care. Their partying, their wants, their fun, comes first. Woe unto anyone including a child who stands in the way of it.
A safety net that was once there for children in bad situations is gone. Not so many years ago family could step in and take the kids and judges would allow responsible family members to adopt. But the judges won't allow it and the mothers in most cases do not want family member too raise the kids either. The kids if they don't get returned to their mother will spend the rest of their childhood in foster care till 18 years old.
Abusive parents and abusive boyfriends of mothers have learned they can play the legal system for years as liberal judges and a very liberal childrens protective services in many states refuse to terminate parental rights.
On the contrary, he was harmed.
He'll probably carry the psychological scars for the rest of his life.
