House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) vowed today that she will join with the Obama administration in standing up against the Catholic Church in defending a new regulation that will require Catholic individuals to buy, and Catholic institutions to provide, health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and artificial contraceptives, including those that induce abortions....
At her Wednesday press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Pelosi: "The administration has issued a regulation that will require all health-care plans to cover sterilization and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions. This would force Catholic individuals and institutions to act against their consciences. All across the nation, Catholic bishops are saying-"
Pelosi responded: "Is this a speech, or do we have a question in disguise as a speech?"
CNSNews.com continued..."Catholic bishops are saying they will not comply with this law. Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in resisting this law or will you stick by the administration?"
Pelosi: "First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made, and I support it."

Bumping your post!!!
“Courageous” would be A word for defying God...
“Foolish” would be another word for it.
I can’t believe she’s still allowed to take communion. At one time her bishop semi threatened to cut her off but then never did anything about it. I guarantee you she would be really upset if she could not take communion. I’m Catholic and its a big deal.
really why will the millions of Catholic up north now vote against obama?
No
Where in the world is her Bishop? She should be excommunicated, ASAP!!!!
Courageous, not the word I was thinking of Nancy.
Pelosi is suffering from total detachment from reality. Best the Catholics cut their relationship with her.
That is why I personally do not feel bad for the Catholic Church. Pelosi and others of her ilk have been left to continue their war on the pre-born and remain members of the Cathlic Church. Shame on them but doubly on the church that looks the other way.
LOL! Certainly can’t blame you there!!! I understand entirely! How funny! ( We’re still even, though. I converted from non-denominational to Catholic in ‘01!) lol! @:D
She’s aimed at hijacking her church in cahoots with her fellow occasional pew warmers. The people who go there every week won’t get a voice. But she’s trying to do it in situ this time, rather than creating a new denomination of protesters. And no protest of yestercentury was ever with an agenda having this much pure hate in it.
And the cheekiest thing is that Obama and company had seriously promised to itchy-eared bishops that they would never do such a thing to the church. But here they are, and they’ve done it, and their promises are as good as yesterday’s chewing gum wad.
It is high time for every Christian bishop, Latin, Orthodox or otherwise (in confessions that still actually uphold the morality of the Scriptures and the Didache) to formally and publicly excommunicate all politicians who support abortion and claim to be members of their flocks.
And, more than that, the relevant church should sue any excommunicate politician who still claims to be a member (not seeking damages, just a restraining order to force them to stop false advertising).
Amazing, when you think about it: the Soviets learned how many divisions the Pope has but the Democrats still don’t know.
It's not just the worship of idols. It's the substitution made where you put yourself in God's place.
One better known form of it, but less understood, is the "What Would Jesus Do" phenomenon. Jesus as Lord, told you the standards that you are supposed to use. Where He has spoken, substituting your judgment for His is, in fact, idolotry.
Really, this is the only way to deal with these people.
I recall when she met with the Pope and he wouldn’t have his picture taken with her.He gave her a pastoral talking to about this issue.I recall that O met with this Pope and promised to do everything to make abortion rare.I guess having the govt pay for it and having every employer, including Catholic ones, pay for it, will do the trick.
Storm clouds on the horizon.
