White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says there are no constitutional rights issues involved in a regulation issued by the administration that requires all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions.
Because the Catholic Church holds that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion are morally wrong and Catholic cannot be involved in them, the regulation--in combination with the Obamacare mandate that all Americans buy health insurance--will force American Catholics to choose between following the federal regulation or following the teachings of their church.
I dont believe there are any constitutional rights issues here, Carney said when asked at todays White House briefing about the regulation.
The administration believes that this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious beliefs and increasing access to important preventative services, Carney told reporters....

Jay Carney, the idiot, along with his imbecile boss, Obama, think that they know better the Churches own beliefs and faith precepts better than the Church knows these.
**Newsflash** - The Church can no more dispense contraceptives or the morning after pill to non-Catholics as they can to Catholics. It does not matter if the healthcare beneficiary is Catholic or not. It is a matter of morality which the church will not and cannot selectively apply to people of different faiths or even atheists.
It is their religious belief that has not changed in the last 2000 years and the tax exempt status for these organizations which has up until now respected their religious freedom for all matters of their belief system is precedent in this matter.
Obama will lose this in the courts 9 to 0 just as he lost in the recent SCOTUS case involving the Ministerial exception issue.
Meanwhile, these Catholic institutions will, with great confidence, refuse to comply with this law and continue to provide the same health care services for their employees uninterrupted.
The level of arrogance that this administration displays is simply breathtaking.
Need a fire suit there?
that’s your take mine is God has instructed us to do all to save the lives of the unborn and that includes using the government system of Justice to go on record as defending our position. Time for the money changers to be kicked out of the halls of justice.
After all if none of us had never took on the ungodly in court you would be allready living in a Communist Nation.
Why shouldn’t they be able to offer health insurance, services, or hospitals?
Because they are Catholic? You are saying that can’t have those things...because they are Catholic and violate a piece of legislation?
So they don’t have that freedom any more to live their lives according to the guidelines set forth by their religion?
Um. No. "Spiritual Battles" are um, fought, well....within each soul.
So no. Not in court. Because see above.
I swear FR has gone insane.
The six Catholics on SCOTUS might disagree with Hussein.
There is a whole slew of exemptions for muslims to the Amish/
“”Carney said: I would also just note that our robust partnerships with the Catholic Church and other communities of faith will continue.””
Did he say the federal government had given the Catholic church $2 billion? I couldn’t catch that exactly and if it’s what I did hear - WHY ON EARTH would the government be giving any church $$$$$????
NO! What we are beginning to see, at least in one instance, is a hospital group, once labeled as "catholic", redefine itself and abandon the religious connection.
Why did obamma allow for an exemption to the moslems to obamacare? They are exempted from the healthcare mandate.
By hiring lawyers?
First you were going to pool Christian monies to hire that talk show guy and some Judicial Watch talking head to file a lawsuit against someone or something because of an offhand opinion a press agent made. Now you're throwing demons out of the "halls of justice?" Is that down the street from the Halls of Tripoli?
If they were a Muslim hospital complaining do you think they would still have the same opinion?
I have also written to Tom Fitton at Judicial watch asking him to file suit on behalf of all Christian Denominations that are Pro Life.
You can also do so by going to this link.

Catholics have been squeezed out of the education business one way or the other. Now they will be squeezed out of the medical care business, adoption business or anything else that may have Catholic name association. Only the Church building will remain as the Alamo.
The Amish do not carry health insurance. The government respects their principles. Christian Scientists want to heal by prayer alone, and the new health-care reform law respects that. Quakers and others object to killing even in wartime, and the government respects that principle for conscientious objectors. By its decision, the Obama administration has failed to show the same respect for the consciences of Catholics and others who object to treating pregnancy as a disease.
This latest erosion of our first freedom should make all Americans pause. When the government tampers with a freedom so fundamental to the life of our nation, one shudders to think what lies ahead.

On the contrary, it is a blatant encroachment of the religious freedom.
If someone, anyone, wants to buy contraceptive pills or any other form of contraception, she has to pay for it herself.
No religious organization, either Catholic, Baptist, Jewish or any other, which would violate its beliefs, can be mandated to pay for it.
Hussein, take your law and shove it where the sun don't shine.
What he's gonna do, when ALL those organizations will refuse to comply? I'd like to see that.
Sue them.
Maybe they will finally change their minds.
Excellent!
