My mother called me up all in a panic one day, saying her neighbors (La Raza gang banger types) were threatening to kill her (and they were) when they showed up with baseball bats.

Nothing happens and things calm down.

3 weeks later, she tells me that they were arrested and I could stop worrying. I made the mistake of saying “Oh, I quit worrying about that a couple of weeks ago”.

She screamed “I NEVER TOLD YOU TO STOP WORRYING!”
