It's 0930 EST and there's nothing in the sidebar that looks like a live thread for the SC primary . . .
Hmmm.......all legal, but it ain't gonna play well with the folks.
Willard is so yesterday, he thinks endorsements and $$$are what matters.
let me know if you see anything.. I am so busy right now, it is hard to keep up.
Thanks for that quote- I added it to my list of favorites on my homepage!
In 2008 SC and NV were on the same day. McCain didn’t even bother trying NV because he was rightfully concerned with SC.
Also, NV has a very high mormon population which should help Romney.
I don’t think it’ll really be a big deal.
FL is the key. Its 50 delegates will give Newt the cushion he needs to absorb NV, CO, MI, AZ and make it to Super Tuesday.
really, if Romney loses by 10+ in FL he’s done anyway. none of the other states matter after that.
I just heard the skeleton on CNN say there was a 33% increase in voters in S.C. over 2008. Is this true and what does it all mean?
I agree he is the key. Certainly he must know he can’t win. He needs to drop out.
“Hah! Well, at least I think Calista will dress tastefully.
No more bare arms in the White House.”
I agree......like her husband, anyone but the wookie would be appreciated.
That said, I’ll take Calista over a bunch of potential First Ladies.....she appears to be up to the job, possessing both class and elegance.
There was also evidence Sandy Hume was a victim of Arkancide.
Evidence or suspicion? Anything so political charged would be subject to all kinds of theories. Was there an investigation? A suicide note?
It means the natives are restless and pissed off, and not going to take either OBAMMY or the GOP elite ANYMORE! :-) PLEASE GOD!!
After Newt's fantastic performance this week, against odds that would have ended the candidacy of a lesser man, Newt prevailed - and not only prevailed - he SLAYED the competition, the slime encrusted MSM, the back-stabbing ex, the Doubting Thomases on our side, and the whole of the corrupt-o-crat establishment that feed the rest!
His brilliant debate performance on Monday of this week, and his dramatic smack down at the beginning of Thursday's debate - coupled with his STELLAR victory in South Carolina, should cause you to cast aside all doubts about his ability to take apart every foe that dares to stand in his way.
And with stunning victory, comes massive support and campaign cash. There is also the psychological momentum that comes with such a string of victories, which is probably the most devastating weapon of all.
Despite the power of the entrenched establishment media, they've been shown to be the paper tigers they are, by one brilliant and courageous man, who knocked them on their collective kiesters this week. I think they're all on notice from this day hence, that they'd better tread carefully around Newt Gingrich. He's proven that he doesn't suffer fools, and that he will not tolerate their scurrilous behavior.
Arkancide? Haven’t heard that term in years. Brings back some good memories.
The amazing thing to me is that Newt is really the GOP Clinton in so many ways.
They’re about the same age. They look kind of the same. They’re both very smart and policy wonks(forget the Newt-Obama debates. I’d love to see Newt and Clinton, I think they could talk 24 hrs straight and not even break a sweat). Both morally questionable and have issues with women. Both great communicators in their own way. Both draw intense dislike from the other side. Both great political strategists and understand how to play the game.
They’re mirror images. I think that’s why Clinton has said recently he respects Newt and gives him credit. He sees a lot of himself. Even Carville tonight on CNN gave Newt his props and I think he sees a lot of his former client in him.
Who’d ever have though after all this that Newt Gingrich of all people would be the front runner? As Chuck Berry said “it goes to show you never can tell”
A very
concise diagnosis of what just took place in SC. Thanks.
;o)

Newt+ Freddie+ Lobbyist=Housing crash.
Let me tell you, my hat’s off to the SC conservatives for seeing through the whole Marianne crapola. Newt turned it on the media and the voters gave him an overnight boom that resulted in one of the greatest political comebacks I’ve ever seen in all my life. Well done, people...well done.
I am down for the fight against the RINO establishment. I will be supporting Newt anyway I can. This is a battle for the Conservative ideology to win out over the spineless moderates. It will take all the will power we can muster to do it. GO NEWT GO!
Why was Clintoons dalliance with Lewinsky bad and Newts serial adultery not bad?
Here is the difference but 1st let me lay on you straight:
If I was President I’d probably hit a few women. Then again, I’m single and don’t care.
Here is the difference to you, yuh moralist.
Newt cheated on his wife. Deplorable? Hell, who knows what was going in that house. Not condoning but remember this:
Behind every good looking woman is a man who just can’t put up with her shit anymore.
Now to Clinton. Yeah, he cheated and you know what? I couldn’t care less.
Here is were the rubber meets the road though:
Bill Clinton had been involved in long series of affairs alleging certain behavior that was well, not gentlemanly.
When Bill Clinton was forced to testify in court about one of those affairs HE, under oath, lied about it.
Do you understand the gravity of what he did? He lied under oath and was later convicted of perjury and suborning. He was stripped of his ability to ever argue in front of the Supreme Court and fined nearly $1 million dollars.
Do you see the difference? It’s subtle, but it’s there.
No it did not seem sincere. It seemed hateful and disrespectful. You don’t know me from Adam, and you wrote to me, when I was talking to someone else.
Just because Mr. Robinson has endorsed Newt, does not mean that everyone who posts here has to do the same. Unless of course, he wants to make that a rule for his site, and that is his business. If he does, so be it.
I am for Rick Santorum because he talks and lives the same message. Because he is not hasty to react and does not charge his words with drama. And I have many other reasons for supporting him and could go on for a while.
You’re basically calling me a “holy roller” because I dare to say that Santorum is more in line with what I see as Godly wisdom, and you are, in doing so, casting judgement.
You have put yourself in the same sort of position as people like obama who castigate Christians as “bitter clingers.” Maybe a little more introspection might help. Casting Christians who support Santorum as “The Church Lady” is dividing the conservative cause. Mindless, selfish thinking.
It is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS to say that because I think Honor and Integrity still hold true and am choosing someone who believes in a firm reliance on Divine Providence, that I am some kind of super-charged judgement issuer.
Further, and this is the LAST thing I have to say, I was most offended that you used God’s Holy Word as a bludgeon as if you think by saying the words you had more power. I will not do the same injustice to Him and his Sacred message. John 3:16 is a beautiful passage of hope and you used it as a baseball bat.
If this type of behavior is indicative of all of Newt’s supporters, it helps to validate the choice I have already made. Your man may win, but you haven’t gained him any respect.
Hi noob, welcome to Free Republic.
I am going to believe that since you are new, you are not aware that this topic has been hashed over many many times on many threads.
Fact Check: Latest Ad by Pro-Romney Super PAC “Restore Our Future” Contains Numerous Lies and Falsehoods
Atlanta, GA - Newt 2012 released a fact sheet today responding to the latest dishonest attack ad aired by pro-Romney Super-Pac “Restore our Future”:
Falsehood: Freddie Mac paid Newt $30,000 an hour - $1.6 million.
The Truth:
I think less than maybe once a month, they [Freddie Mac] would drop by. We’d spend an hour [talking].
-Newt Gingrich, On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, 11/17/11
It is this remark which the Super-Pac uses to justify this gross distortion.
First, Freddie Mac was a client of the Gingrich Group, a firm with thirty employees and offices in three cities. The client fees were not paid directly to Newt, they were paid to the company, and the vast majority of it went to staff salaries, health insurance, rent and other overhead.
Second, like any consulting firm, a great deal of work and research goes into the recommendations given. Newt and his staff spent time preparing for these meetings, putting in hours of research to bring a well informed opinion. To report that a one hour meeting is the extent of their work is ignorant of standard business practice.
