How will the details revealed by Marianne Gingrich regarding her former husbands personal life and Newt Gingrichs defiant response play out among the GOP presidential primary electorate?
But its worth keeping in mind that even before Marianne Gingrich went public, Newt Gingrich was already facing tough odds when it comes to his support among women nationally a factor that underscores the argument made by his GOP rivals against his electability in the fall.
There typically tends to be a gender gap in presidential general elections, as women vote more Democratic than men.
But a CNN/Time/Opinion Research survey conducted Jan. 11-12 showed that among national adults, Gingrich faces the biggest gender gap of all the GOP contenders.
If the general election had been held in mid-January before news of the Marianne Gingrich interviews had broken -- the CNN survey shows President Obama would have taken 54 percent to Gingrichs 41 percent. Among only men, that gap narrows to a six-percentage point difference: 49 percent for Obama and 43 percent to Gingrich.
But among women, it widens to 18 points: 58 percent for Obama and 40 percent for Gingrich.

It's possible that he was a retread and only now has come to the attention of the mods. We may never know. I too read one page of posting history and didn't see anything terrible but like you, I can't see deleted posts either.
I've seen people who have been here longer than he had, get zotted as retreads.
Unfortunately, Gingrich also was in favor of a healthcare mandate.
This is not a good choice.
Umm, may I suggest that *you* are the new one?

Jesse Helms was my hero and a true southern gentleman...RIP
Yet you seem to have made the choice, for Romney.
You're wrong.
So it would seem.
You were dismissive of Santorum, and are dedicated to stopping Gingrich, nobody is obsessed as you are with attacking Newt unless you are trying to sneak in the loser Mitt Romney, or the Nazi fag boy, Paul.
"I'm not a partisan politician," he said in an interview with The Post that fall. "My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses."
I hate cult-worship.
Gingrich is not the small Gov't politician he is now claiming to be. It's a bunch of bunk. He was a Fannie Mae lobbyist which is how he's been earning most of his money, he was for Federal health mandates, and one of his heroes is Toffler who is a Gore-like, junk-science personality. Gingrich has a nasty history of marital infidelity which prevented him from being a strong leader during the Clinton impeachment. All of these beliefs points to my belief in conservatism which is more power for the people, not for the Gov't. Ginrich's past does not point toward true conservatism. He likes tinkering with Gov't though you and others are tending to believe the opposite.
Seems like many on FR are swallowing the big Gov't kool-aid as Gingrich seduces them into thinking he's our small Gov't savior. Bunch of bull.

On the contrary, I'm not the one looking for a halo.
Rather, it's the purists among conservatives who wouldn't go for a Daniels, Barbour or (Heaven forbid) a Jeb Bush because they were considered "Rinos".
Now we have Gingrich who the conservatives are going ga-ga over despite his stance on global warming, health mandates, boosting of immigration, tinkering with federal programs and his consideration of the Ryan plan as "social engineering". Not to mention his sordid womanizing which is the topic of this thread...(and BTW to expect a stable marital relationship is not expecting a "halo"...just normal behavior). But the man can SPEAK!/sarc
Quite hypocritical to say the least.
Fickle.
As for the Bushes...you are right. They are quality people and we would be in an extremely dark period had George W. not been Pres. on 9/11. How easily people forget.
The left is pure hypocrisy.
The 2nd wife wasn't useful enough to Newt to get him where he wants to go, so he married Callista.
Gingrich is primarily power-hungry...his core values vary from day to day.
I would vote for Newt vs. Obama, and would hope that something could be accomplished under him with a GOP House and Senate, but I wish there were better choices in the running.
My first choice would have been Haley Barbour. But he apparently was too "RINO" for the Tea Party crowd. I knew that the hyper-enthusiasm for Bachman, Cain, and Perry on the right would wane...and so it has.
So what?
Perhaps the biggest turn off here is a cowardly wimp that trolls and single mindedly attacks our leading conservative candidate, yet lies about, or refuses to admit to he supports.
Contemptible, petty, and childish.
I told you I do not like any of the candidates. I prefer none of them but I will vote for any of them against Obama.
You seem quite dense.
You really are a little troll.
You are obviously a romneybot.
You can’t name your candidate, but you know and we know, that you must devote yourself to stopping Romney’s only opponent.
It seems that JR just zotted you.
Zevonismymuse zotted.
Long time Mittbot, who once in her history told JimRob that Mittens was the most conservative candidate running and that he (J.R.) just hated Mormons. Every bit as obnoxious, if not more so, than flaglady47, zotted earlier today.
Siena Dreaming zotted, that’s at least three on this thread.
TheOldLady: Siena Dreaming and Hoodat have both left the building in separate lightning strikes, here and here.
Good shooting and God Speed, Jim!
Cheers!
Hoodat just got pitched through a 6th floor picture window by JR.
