Jeb Bush: Capitalism and the Right to Rise
Wall St Journal ^ | 12/19/11 | Jeb Bush

Posted on 12/19/2011 6:01:45 AM PST by Lady Lucky

Think about it. We talk about the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, the right to assembly. The right to rise doesn't seem like something we should have to protect...

It would be a complete waste of time to answer your question. If you don’t know by now, I couldn’t explain it to you.

Go ahead, what’s stopping you? Come on, I’m not afraid of reading what you have to say! I fully expect to get quite lot of nasty stuff aimed at me. I can choose to read it or not to. Actually I hardly know what to say to you either. There’s a whole lot of worse things going on in this country, but a whole lot of you Bush-bashers seem to fixate on how much you hate the Bushes, and all the bad stuff you feel they did. That’s your right, I suppose.

But go ahead and spill whatever you want, you won’t change my mind! I was merely curious as to the real reasons of why you/some others feel the need to blame Jeb for what some evil husband and his evil judge friend did! Or why you and many others on here feel the need to trash him and his family endlessly on this forum!

I have no intention of "aiming nasty stuff at you," as you put it.

you won’t change my mind

Right. So why waste my time? Hopefully you won't waste any more of yours in replying to this. I won't be responding again. Have a blessed day!

The Bush family has done as much as any Democrat to destroy class mobility in this country. I agree with the sentiment, but he’s not to be trusted.

We need less Bush, but this guy’s first line in the article is on-point.

Yes it is, but when Jeb talks about the "right to rise" he's thinking about illegal aliens.

I don’t know if IA people would believe Jebbie or not, but they are easily misled there being the declared heart of “middle America.”

To me, Jebbie is worse than Romney. If Bush is the answer, the question is wrong.

Evidently you were asleep in 1991-1992, and the turnover to eight years to Clinton. This after Bush the Elder was bequeathed a broken Soviet Union and a roaring economy.

You also were asleep from January 2005 to Dec. 2008, when except for the surge, I don’t know what the heck Bush the younger was doing. Thanks to him, we had John McCain and Obama. And let’s not forget the rehabilitation of a traitor, Bill Clinton. We almost lost Iraq and we got mired down in Afghanistan, two hell holes that were not worth the lives and treasure we spent on their ungrateful peoples.

Feel free to build a statue to the Bush dynasty. I don’t care for them.

As for having any of them back, exactly what would be different? Oh, that’s right, the press would also be bashing the President, because he would be a Republican.

Bushes are squishes. Well bred squishes. They all kept their mouths shut while the storm clouds of the Communist Dems gathered, and didn’t fight back tooth and nail when they needed to.The new tone and all that rot.Oh, and the Swift Boat Vets, who saved Bush the Younger’s neck in 2004, they were a bunch of vigilantes. Meanwhile, his opponent in 2004, a clear traitor, well, he could not say one bad thing about Kerry. Wouldn’t be prudent. And the 2006 mid-term disaster, and the rise of Pelosi and Reid, two of the worst Congressional leaders in history.Don’t forget McCain-Feingold and the the amnesty war. Don’t want to squander that political capital now, do we?

Thanks to them, Clinton is now respected, and Obama is ruling, and the Dems continue to ruin the country.

And Karl Rove is fighting for Romney to be the GOP nominee.

I meant what I said. From 1991 to 2011, in 20 years, this country has gone to hell. And Bushes were President for 9 of those years. Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama—a liberal tagteam if there ever was one.

Pray tell, how have any of the Bush family fought against the evil in DC we have today? I only hear crickets. What do they risk? Their silence is consent in my book.

Even Ronald Reagan in his declining mental state in 1994, tried to take on Clinton and warn of what was to come.

The Bushes, well, history will be a mixed bag for them. Luke warm at best, negligent at worst. They were no friend to conservatives, so I feel no need to be their friend.

Only if it’s him vs Obama will I vote for him. Perhaps this is why there’s chatter about Condi Rice (who I do think voted for Obama).

If Newt were president during the Terri Schiavo affair, would she be alive today, or would Newt let some judge murder her?

I think you know the answer.

Noot would have sawed her in half, and fed half, and starved half.

That is Noot, the aisle crossing compromiser.

You are correct...so many on here just love to turn on their own. They go thru favorites like water...Alan Keyes, Fred Thompson, Michael Steele (yes, believe it or not he was loved on this forum at one time), Michelle Bachman. The current "favorite" is Newt but he will also be disliked before too long.

Fickle.

As for the Bushes...you are right. They are quality people and we would be in an extremely dark period had George W. not been Pres. on 9/11. How easily people forget.

It’s a very good article. Rush Limbaugh spoke at some length about it on his show today, marveling that it was penned by Jeb Bush.

No, I wouldn’t want to see Bush run in 2012 but that doesn’t negate the fact that he is spot on in his observations in this article.

If Newt had been governor during the Schiavo affair, that would have been even better. Judge Greer would have been unbenched, disbarred, defrocked, tarred and feathered on a handcar. A president can only do so much, but a governor...!

I don't care what celestial being enjoyed the article Jeb signed his name to. He's dead to me and seeing the dead emerge and emit opinion on the eve of a primary season is downright repulsive.
