The Post & Email has just learned that Lt. Col. Stefan Cook, about whose illness we reported yesterday, has passed away at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL at approximately 2:30 p.m. today of pancreatic cancer.
Cook, then a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, had challenged Obamas constitutional eligibility to serve as president in July 2009 through Atty. Orly Taitz. After Taitz filed the lawsuit in Georgia, Cooks orders to deploy to Afghanistan were rescinded by the Army, a move which Taitz had hailed as a victory.
At the time the lawsuit was filed, Maj. Cook had expressed his concern that he might be carrying out illegal orders in the event that Obama was not constitutionally qualified to issue them. He had told WorldNetDaily, [Then] any order coming out of the presidency or his chain of command is illegal. Should I deploy, I would essentially be following an illegal [order]. If I happened to be captured by the enemy in a foreign land, I would not be privy to the Geneva Convention protections.

God bless him
Wow... Did he ever look the part of a military guy.
In that image, he reminds me a little of George Patton.
Prayers for our departed but not forgotten patriot...
Thanks kristinn..sorry to see this but it was apparently expected.
RIP patriot!
RIP Sir. You stood proudly by your convictions.
Just damn...prayers.
Now he’s part of the “so great a cloud of witnesses” that surround us. I hope and pray we never drop the torch he carried so faithfully and handed off to us.
The Freeper Canteen has an “In Memory Of” for another Freeper military man. When anybody who loves this country and understands the battle we’re in for its survival is gone from us it feels like losing a brother. It’s a sad day today, in so many ways.
My family and I will keep praying for Stefan’s family. There’s an empty place in their lives now.
Oh dang — how sad :(
Prayers for the family.
Saw something about it on one of the state boards, waited for confirmation before pinging anyone.
RIP
Lt Col Stefan Cook (Freeper roaddog727)
Kristinn, any idea what happened?
I recall seeing him say he didn’t feel well.
We will miss you Sparky more than you know!
RIP, your tour is over and God has brought you home.
Prayers and condolences to your family.
RIP Prayers for your family as well.
Thanks Kristinn...I am still in shock and awe mode over this.
Prayers and condolences.
Farewell Brother.
May he rest in peace.
Prayers offered for Stefan and his family.
OMG...pancreatic cancer is so painful. Although I am sure his family is mourning greatly, God has releived him from his pain, and that is a blessing. We have all been blessed by Lt. Col. Stefan Cook’s heroic acts...here and in the service of our country. May he be seated now on a chair of gold enjoying the peace in Heaven and the songs of the angels choir as they welcome him home.
