Live thread to cover today's GOP caucus. News, predictions, opinions, totals, and the like.
Will be heading out about 4 pm or so to get our site ready and do a final review with the precinct chairs. I expect it to be bigger than 2008 with very heavy turnout and we are preparing for that.
We are also ready for disruptions. They simply won't be tolerated. The state party sent us a memo saying if there's any trouble call the cops immediately. Anyone trying to cause problems is going to get a rude awakening.
My predictions of the outcome are a narrow field with about a 10 point spread for the top five with Bachmann far behind in single digits:
Santorum - 24 Romney - 22 Paul - 20 Perry - 17 Gingrich - 14 Bachmann - 4 The Rest - 1
Think things are still in flux and many won't decide till right to the wire, so I'm not terribly confident of any predictions.
How do you support calling Newt, Perry and Santorum Progressives or Marxist? Makes you sound like just another clueless, pimple-faced Paulbot.
If a person wanted to vote for a conservative candidate, then they won't be voting for Newt. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Newt debate Obama. But for me, the tradeoff isn't worth it. No debate is worth having four more years of Obama, yet that is exactly what you will get if Newt is the candidate.
Per Drudge with 300,000 votes in: Paul 31% Romney 24% & Santorum 17%
You will have to ask HIM. :)
Amen...and thank you for being a voice of reason here and in Iowa!
I feel better just reading your post.
Doesn't matter.
He's not a registered voter.
He's not an American citizen.
I wonder - if god picks you - does a mark appear on your forehead??
I’m gonna pray for you, both.
Santorum supported the progressive Bush agenda in Congress. So yeah Santorum is for sure a progressive. Perry has shown some very progressive big government ideas here in Texas, but happily a very conservative legislature keeps him in check. Newt is a bit harder to get a handle on, but he was in favor of the bailouts and stimulas and cap n trade and amnesty for illegals and so on.
Prediction
Paul - 27
Mitt Hussein Rombama - 22
Santorum - 18
Thank you, will bookmark
:)
If the economy isn’t number 1 issue, Obama wins. When new posters suggest things which help Obama, I wonder where they are coming from...
Cite references, please. I don’t believe you.
Doesn’t matter who God is for, because He doesn’t have an Iowa photo ID, and thus can’t vote in the caucus... Though I am sure He is interested in the outcome... ;)
Thank you. Say a prayer for me as I’m giving his nomination speech in my precinct.
Knock yerself out!
Wonder what a pic of god would sell for on e-bay???
And, as to the second point, unless he's looking for a good belly laugh, I don't think he's interested at all in the Iowa thingy!
