In case you were planning to sit this one out...
Ruth Bader Ginsburg - 78 years old
Antonin Scalia - 75 years old
Anthony Kennedy - 75 years old
Stephen Breyer - 73 years old
Clarence Thomas - 63 years old
Samuel Alito - 61 years old
Sonia Sotomayor - 57 years old
John Roberts - 56 years old
Elena Kagan - 51 years old
And of course there are unknown factors not related to age.
Your way has been tried for almost forty years.
And it is well beyond the point of meeting Einstein’s definition of insanity.
Actually Whizzer White was pretty conservative & he was picked by JFK.
But you are still talking history that is getting kind of ancient.
LBJ, Clinton & 0 all put on 100-percent psycho libs.
Carter never made any appointments, thankfully.
Nixon gave us three libs & one conservative.(pretty inexcusable)
Reagan gave us two moderates and one conservative (I'll take it as he did improve the court overall)
Bush I gave us one conservative & one moonbat (at least he was treading water)
Dubya has the best record with two conservatives.
You mean by taking an active part in the political process.
You're "way" -- staying home and sulking -- is going to get us Romney as our nominee and maybe a second term for Obama.
I never said I was going to “stay home and sulk.” You’re inventing stuff.
If Romney is your nominee that’s your fault, not mine.
Same goes for a repeat of Obama.
When you say "Too bad no one is offering anyone I can support so far" what exactly do you mean?
If Romney is your nominee thats your fault, not mine.
Oh, I "can support candidates so far" who are not Romney, and I will continue to the end to support the not-Romney candidate even if it comes down to Ron "Whackjob" Paul. You said you cannot.
And if Romney is the nominee I will support him over Obama, unlike you.
My standard is “will they keep the first obligation of the oath of office, which is to equally protect the God-given, unalienable rights of the people.”
Your standard is, quite obviously, Barack Obama.
Good luck with that.
Why are you the one not trying to get him out of office?
Obama is not our main problem.
Our main problem is folks who call themselves “conservative” who have become so unprincipled that anything and everything is negotiable, as long as it has an “R” by it.
Our main problem is whiny folks who think themselves so pure and holy they refuse to fight. They say stupid things like "the lesser of two evils is still evil" and snipe at those in the ring while failing to comprehend that it is the failure to mitigate evil that is still evil; not voting for or working with an "impure" person.
Not much I can do for you if you think our main problem in American politics today is too much purity.
Fixed, No charge.
Most excellent point!!
