"A Gingrich campaign official prior to the move by the Republican Party of Virginia said the problem is how the rules are set up, arguing that the party is, for apparently the first time, cross-checking the addresses that signature-givers gave against the electronic voter database file for accuracies. A name without a proper address match was tossed, the official said."

Other Tennesseans chime in..
But if I had moved since the last election from one election precinct to0 another
and had not gone to the election commision and changed my voter registration...
I wouldnt be a registed voter..
I could turn up at the local school etc in my new precint to vote but i would be denied the opportunity because I would not be listed on the printouts from their current datebase...
To vote in TN you must be registered 30 days before the election...
and I would think to be one of those eligible to sign for Newt you would have to have a valid CURRENT voter registration...
For the Feb 15 early voting in TN if I wasnt registered, I would have to go to the election office by Friday Jan 13 to register...
(I always go in and check mine a couple of months ahead anyway...
just to make sure Im still on their list..)
If in 2008 I was living on Main Street and went to the local Lincoln High School to vote ...
But now Ive moved to Winding Road in another precinct..
and I havent bothered to change my info
Its no use going to Smith Elementry near Winding Road on Feb 15..
They dont have me on their lists..
and its no use back to Lincoln if my drivers license now says Winding Road..
They’ll tell me I dont live in their precinct so i cant vote there..
So technically I am now not a registered voter..
I realize that a voter in that position still has a couple of weeks to get that straightened out in order to vote...
But at the time they signed that petition for Newt
They were not a eligible registered voter..
Its a pity nobody made sure about that..
The volunteers were not trained properly..
and names without addresses ???
again poor training..
and when people said they didnt want to give their address etc ???
Dont take their name to count them without all the necessary info..
again lack of training..
I dont think challenging the ineligibility thing is going to fly..
Newt and his campaign staff had the responsibility to get it all done right..
also its easy for a RomneyBot from another state etc to go to VA and pretend to support Newt..
By messing up Newts petition by a few votes they rendered him ineligible and no longer a vital threat to Willie Mitty..
Would the Paulites do that also ???
Maybe...
But they would have taken out Romney too...
No its more like Romney and his Democrat buddies..
“Its Christmas Eve, dearest katdidit1. No time to be sick over politics or even this. Little or nothing can be done today or tomorrow, so please keep the faith!
Its not just Gingrich, but also Perry, so a challenge will surely be in order.
We all need to have a Blessed and Merry CHRISTmas!”
AMEN!
I have been baking for tomorrow! Remember Jesus is the reason for the season!
Merry CHRISTmas to all of you too!
And dems are held to the same standards!!!!
We are our own worst enemy
15K signatures and we won't check the signatures. 10K signatures and we will.
Truely stunning logic.
Yes, I’m saying exactly that. The policy is that if you exceed the required signatures by 50 % (15k) that it is assumed you have enough signatures after dq’s and your petitions are not looked at.
Been working non-stop for two days so I am not up on this but one good yield is that we new Voter-ID states people need to make sure our addresses match.
We’re going to learn a lot of valuable lessons from this, and VA isn’t that big of deal, anyway.
Which is why we’re supporting twice divorced Newt. I see. :)
Stunning is that Newt didn’t say to himself, hey, maybe I should get 15k signatures. Pretty sweet deal. 15k and nobody cares.
This was actually probably a test. Good one, too.
Stunning is that Newt didnt say to himself, hey, maybe I should get 15k signatures. Pretty sweet deal. 15k and nobody cares.
My above point stands, regardless of whether one thinks Newt and Perry should have gotten more (15K) signatures.
All signatures should be verified. You aren't disagreeing with that, are you?
Funny how that letter has no date....any way to corroborate that it was written before the SHTF on this matter?
Mrs. Prince of Space
Great test. Claim you have 15K legitmate signatures and nobody will check you.
Maybe this complicated new rule wasn’t highly publicized and the campaign staff weren’t apprised of the changes. This is right out of Zero’s playbook BTW.
Mrs. Prince of Space
They don’t have time to check them all, FreeReign.
What they do is sample them randomly. If enough random samples turn up clean, then we can, mathematically, have an estimate as to how many ballots are in error.
Someone’s pulling a card from Obama’s play deck. He did the same kind of stuff in Chicago.
By David Sherfinski - The Washington Times - Tuesday, December 20, 2011 RICHMOND Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, facing a challenge from the right in state Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II, finds himself banking on a strong performance from Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney not exactly enamored by conservatives himself to give him a boost for the 2013 GOP gubernatorial nomination. Mr. Bolling, who is reprising his role as Mr. Romneys Virginia campaign chairman in 2012, on Tuesday officially filed the former Massachusetts governors petition papers so he can appear on the Virginia ballot... It looks like, there is the RINO who may very well be the source of "the problem" And it is VERY Obama-like to get your leading competitor(s) knocked out by microscopic ballot disqualifications. Virginia Republican Presidential Primary Poll Date Sample Gingrich Romney Paul Perry Bachm. Hunts. Santo. Spread Quinnipiac 12/13 - 12/19 489 RV 30 25 9 6 6 4 3 Gingrich +5 PPP (D) 12/11 - 12/13 350 RV 41 15 6 8 8 3 6 Gingrich +26Is Virginia the new puke-liberal Illinois? |
Then random checks should be done with all the candidates' signatures, right Ben?
“And this is the first time most of the major candidates didn’t get on the ballot.”
Well that is just it. Of all the candidates running only two were able to get on the ballot. That does not sit well with me. There maybe a rebellion brewing against the RINO Republican party.
Question! From where does Paul get all his money? Looking and listening to his supporters I would think that they could hardly have anything left after their concert tickets. Could it just be that as a anti-Semite he he has a pool of money from the Muslims including Saudi Arabia.
I have great hopes that Newt will challenge any law that says there cannot be write-ins. Something is critically wrong when people outside of the establishment procedures lose their representation.
