Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Obama Administration’s Use of Gay Rights to Make Foreign Aid Decisions
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement:
“Just when you thought Barack Obama couldn’t get any more out of touch with America’s values, AP reports his administration wants to make foreign aid decisions based on gay rights.
“This administration’s war on traditional American values must stop.
“I have proposed a foreign aid budget that starts at zero. From that zero baseline, we will consider aid requests based solely on America’s national security interests. Promoting special rights for gays in foreign countries is not in America’s interests and not worth a dime of taxpayers’ money.
“But there is a troubling trend here beyond the national security nonsense inherent in this silly idea. This is just the most recent example of an administration at war with people of faith in this country. Investing tax dollars promoting a lifestyle many Americas of faith find so deeply objectionable is wrong.
“President Obama has again mistaken America’s tolerance for different lifestyles with an endorsement of those lifestyles. I will not make that mistake.”

Nobody is hearing this, shield. ANY of it. The msm will not allow Rick Perry to be heard. newt has been chosen. He has the clinton seal of approval just as mccain did. I don’t know how we change this, but we had better.
the media will ever allow the public to know he is using our money for an agenda which most do not want.
Kudo’s to Perry on this one at least he has balls to speak u0p on this issue unlike some in the GOP .

Actually, I agree with Zero on this. Given that most of our aid is to backward third world countries that do not give a hoot about any human rights.... we just cut several billion out of the budget.

Perry’s team is changing that. Romney was choosen also. Now look at him. There will be a shot that takes Newt out and it’s not far off.
It sure is a different world now... Used to be that foreign aid was used as leverage to bring warring states to the negotiating table, or to exact certain strategic actions. Now it’s all about “gay rights.”
Well, “gay” may be the “in thing” in New America, but it’s not quite so fashionable in other places in the world. Erstwhile recipients of U.S. foreign aid will look to China and do their bidding instead.
Ha! Show me another candidate who will dare take this stand (keeping in mind that Perry is also a sitting governor). Kudos to Governor Perry. To hell with the homosexual agenda. I’ve had enough.
Perry needs to do this right out loud so people can hear it! Putting it up on his website won’t get it. He has all but disappeared since the letterman show, and the news networks aren’t allowing any attention to be paid to him. It’s newt, 24/7 everywhere and it is sickening.
I am getting to the point that if gingrich or romney ends up with the nomination, I am going to write in Tim Tebow!!!
When we borrow 41 cents of every dollar we send to other countries this is one of Perry's planks I support.

romney didn’t have the clinton seal of approval, shield. gingrich does...which means that gingrich has sold his soul exactly like mccain did. If it even begins to look as if Perry is back in this race, he will be Palined or Cained, or worse.
I can see the day when some freak crawls out from under a rock and claims he had sex with Rick Perry. It WILL happen. Such is the way of the G-dless, the power-hungry, the crooks, and the greedy.
