Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
You said only folks on FR want the illegals out. I don't know one person who wants the 20M+ illegals to stay. Our school and healthcare systems have suffered due to the support illegal immigrants receive.
Everyone I know says take away the magnets and the illegals will deport themselves. How hard is that?
I think they met in grade school.
Im a Newt supporter and disagree that he is for blanket amnesty ....
The reality is its obvious if this nations people and polititions cannot bring themselves to stop the muslim infilitration what makes you think the Hispanics will be sent home who arent threatening to kills us? Its just not going to happen.
” Heres insult added to injury: that brunette on CNN just said if Newt had vocalized Perrys ideas that theyd be taken with much more gravitas. “ <<<<
It is incredibly true that efficiency in yakking has always trumped accomplishment. We should know. The prime example sits in the White House.
Give me a break. I am not deluded by what Newt said in a 5 minute segment inside a single debate. He is already on record supporting most of the Dream Act, a guest worker program, and a "path to citizenship" (amnesty). He is weak and naive on this issue.
You get it! It’s not rocket science...Herman Cain can tell you that ;)
A courageous candidate would have said: “ I support deporting all illegal aliens including those related to the current setting president!”
Did Cain actually talk about oil exports from Syria or did I mishear what he said...Syria is not a big oil player, in fact, they have very little.
So your solution to that is to give in to their every demand? You would make one heck of a prison warden.
Cain has. Epic fail from the infobabe.
I like to refer to him as 'N. Leroy Gingrich'. That usually gets a reaction.
You ignore the ones that are here and have been paying for 25~35 years.
It’s kinda like SS to me.
We know its broke, and we need to lay a place marker.
I know a ex-bank-robber who has a nice family, goes to church every Sunday, has kids and grand kids, and never robbed more than $5000 in any one robbery.
With Newt’s logic this bank robber deserves amnesty.
That's exactly right...the problem is those who cannot accept the facts there will be no mass deportations of these families....and the solutions to deal with it are not what they want....it's been a long time coming and far to late now for mass deportations. Newt's right to address this in the manner he's spoken of.
.
That is nonsense!
Russia may possibly have the ability to launch an EMP attack, but terrorists would need thousands of weapons to do it. It's total stupidity, and shows Noot’s dis ingenuousness
Either Newt is toast as of tonight or he has widened the debate.
I’m not ignoring anybody :)
I agree with you on Cain. He answers the questions.
The rest of the candidates have to drone on about how much they think they know.
For all their political experience:
Mitt: Massachusetts Health Care system is a failure
Sanatorium: Lost his last big election in PA
Bachmann: Drones on about her insider information on Policy
and yet the Committee she serves on hasn’t done a thing.
Huntsman: Talks about his China experience and they aren’t any more friendly with us due to his service as Ambassador.
Newt: Is a Beltway Insider, a Rino and now wants to go back and do another Reagan amnesty plan that didn’t work in the 80s and add on the Dream Act.
Paul: Well, you just can’t fix stupid
Cain: An outsider who could solve problems, inspire Americans to rebuild out Country and not be ingratiated to the political pay-back system.
Your comments worth repeating - because they are spot on
with how I think also. Cain is the only one I would trust.
If he is elected I can change my screen name to: not2worry2
That means former unemployed Americans will do most of the jobs the illegals were doing. With so many Americans who have lost jobs, it is important that we protect our own.
Syria exports a lot of oil to its neighbors, which is the point Cain was making.
