RINO.
Three words: liberal progressive RINO.
Add a fourth, fifth, sixth, etc: unprincipled, untrustworthy, flip-flopper, aisle-crossing, fraud, liar, political whore.
And a few more: abortionist, gay rights panderer, gun-grabber, global warming advocate, big government mandate lover, socialist healthcare pusher, constitution trampling, liberal judge appointing, TARP loving, bailout loving, stimulus pushing Keynesian statist.
That my friends, is no definition of conservative or of conservatism. Not even close. In fact it's the exact opposite.
Free Republic is and will remain an exclusive pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-constitution, pro-small government, pro-capitalism, pro-defense, pro-borders, grassroots patriotic conservative site, regardless of party politics.
I support the Republican party as long as it promotes positions and candidates that I can agree with. The current party platform is a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-constitution, pro-small government, pro-capitalism, pro-defense, pro-borders, patriotic, traditional conservative platform. When they formally (or informally) start knocking out or ignoring traditional conservative foundational planks so they can run liberal progressive RINOS then they have lost me. It won't be that I've left the Republican party, the Republican party will have left me.
Some people say FR is a cult. Well, I don't know about that, but I'll be damned if we're going to change our core principles and values so that we can support a man who has spent a political lifetime trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy.
Every one of his leftist positions listed above are documented on the video linked below, which is a compilation of about a dozen debates and other Romney appearances where he vehemently advocates and defends his leftist positions and ideals:
Watch it all the way through. If he becomes the Republican nominee, I can guarantee you you will see these clips and more like them, over and over again on national TV. Romney is totally untrustworthy. And it's all documented in living color.
Yeah, I know. He's changed. He's now a life-long hunter who's always been pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government. And "most of his positions, all of them actually, have always been conservative." Just ask him. And that's the point. He's changed his mind, or at least, he's changed his political platform. And he'll change his mind again tomorrow. He'll continue changing his mind to match the current political winds. That's what unprincipled, untrustworthy, lying political whores do. It's in the nature of the beast.
Bump
I believe you, Jim. See my tag line.
Jim you really need to stop posting stuff like this. I have it on good authority that many FReepers in good standing are beginning to get the idea you don’t care for Romney.
Gee, for a minute there I thought you were talking about Newt Gingrich!
Never have liked this person for the same reason I knew that BJ Clinton was a faker, Kinda like a Jim Swaggart. “I feel your pain” tear jerking, lip trembling faker.
One more comment. I think that we all admire you for your restraint regarding the other candidates. I think that at least half of the people on this site would just love to see more zots, for people that are going overboard supporting other candidates...but you are willing to let it all play out.
As much as I wish they were gone (and you can probably guess which ones I refer to), I still admire the fact that you are very careful with your zots and tend to give people the benefit of the doubt before ‘deleting’ them.
Thanks again, JR.
not wishing to be pedantic, but that first picture shows a rack of air rifles not firearms.
What you said Jim...
I am tired of all the pundits pushing him as the nominee
Thread BUMP & link BUMP!
ROFLMAO!
Jim, you simply MUST break yourself of sugar-coating how you feel. But then, all you Dale Carnagie grads are like that.
That Romney is the Beltway Establishment pick is enough for me to vote for nearly anyone else.
People will say if you do not support the Republican nominee then you are helping the Democrats - but let’s just see what the truth of that is:
If Romney gets the Republican nomination it would be in the best interests of Conservatives (and hence all Americans) if Obama remained in office for another 4 years.
In the space of the average lifetime, there can only be so many Presidents. And when fakes calling themselves Conservative manage to get elected but do not lead as Conservatives then they have wasted a time period. Meanwhile the democrats give us liberal after liberal.
So it would be better that Obama remain in office four more years and then Conservatives have another chance, rather than being stuck with Romney 4 or possibly 8 years and thus wasting all that time, time that can never be gained back, and then another Liberal democrat gains office after Romney.
Right on, Jim!
FReepathon Thread XXVI
Exactly... I have problems with the other candidates but Myth Romney is no conservative..
He does talk a good game though.. like George Bush did..
The last thing the federal government needs is more money...
It NEEDS LESS MONEY...
Eliminating much of it can do that...
Eliminating taxes AFTER there is a surplus is the way to go..
Take a meat ax to the federal government and there WILL BE a surplus..
THEN.. and only then can taxation be addressed wisely..
