I always confront liberals with this terrible proposition- what do they think would have happened if Genghis Khan or Tamerlane would have found their way to the Americas instead? Or, perhaps the gentle ministrations of someone like Selim the Grim? And most certainly, the “indigenous peoples” were not saints and killed each other. Powhatan, when John Smith inquired who lived in the region of Accomack on the far side of Chesapeake Bay, indicated no one lived there after he had them all killed. This crap about Columbus arriving here and destroying some sort of paradise is exactly that- crap.

Is she aware that the first Thanksgiving was an occasion of comity between settler and tribesman? Or is it that she is more interested in fostering resentment than in celebrating us all getting along? Or is He to Whom we give thanks the problem?

Clearly someone is being insensitive here but I don't think it's the people who want to celebrate. It's the same old tired line from the Left: "happiness is complacency, you should be angry and miserable like me." Not for me, thank you. I wonder, can I say "thank you" without getting yelled at?
