AMANDA KNOX ACQUITTED, TO BE RELEASED IMMEDIATELY
There is a lot more to this case.
There is a failure of a prosecuter who jumped to conclusions before he had any evidence. (Still no DNA or knife evidence)
This girl (she was 21 at the time, I think) was arrested and interogated without a lawyer for over 14 hours and wound up confessing to killing her, but then recanted later.
A drifter with his DNA in and on the victim was caught and he initially confessed with NO mention or evidence of even knowing Amanda.
When the prosecuter found this out, he had a guard trick Amanda into confessing to having multiple boy friends and this got released to the press and the public in Italy turned against her.
When the prosecutor saw that he had no case against her for the murder, he change it to lying, which he caused through forced interogation.
This girl was railroaded by a nut case of a prosecutor.
Spot on, good observation!

Yeah, after I asked I suddenly realized I could just google it. So I did. :-D
The report that I saw on TV said that they used up their life savings by traveling to Italy about 25 times in the last 4 years and on lawyers and court fees. They may have been rich, but I got the idea that they aren’t any more. But like you said, that doesn’t have any bearing on the fact that that poor girl was railroaded.
You left out the meme she's also a "rich kid".
Get with it.
“Another murderer goes free ...”
Why do you say that? What are you going by?
From what I've read, a lot of guys have hit it.
I hope Amanda gets filthy rich, for several reasons.
Snuff movies, too.
Facts apparently mean nothing to you.
Why would an innocent woman behave the way she did in court and in the police station? Smiling and doing cartwheels?
“This is great news. I was in Italy during the entire first trial and what a joke it was. Even the Italians thought it was crap. Score one for American. Getting one of our own back after being falsely accused of a crime she didnt commit. Happens all the time lately. At least justice has been served.”
Thanks! Your comment is refreshing!
That right there would get this bounced out of an American court in about 3 seconds.
I have followed the case and the facts as presented at her trial. Amanda and her Italian bf were high on drugs, picked up the African at the bar, and went back to the apartment where they engaged in a Manson-like frenzy killing of a straight-laced British Jewish girl.
Knox and the bf held the roommate down while Guede raped her. Amanda’s DNA was on the murder weapon.
When questioned by the police, Amanda threw the blame on the bar owner, (her employer), who had a firm alibi and was nowhere near the murder scene, before, during, or after the brutal slaying. (Thus the slander charges.)
This girl Amanda Knox will come to no good end.
My sympathies are with the parents of the British girl. They sent their child, a serious student, for a life-enhancing semester in a foreign country. Instead of returning to them, she was savagely violated and killed by Knox, Sollecito, and Guede.
Justice has not been served here.
For many who had been imprisoned in the Gulag and later wrote about their experiences, the story was all about themselves and their personal hardships. Solzhenitsyn transcended that, and used his literary powers to analyze the Gulag, particularly in the historical context of the Soviet revolution. It’s a timeless work, and ought, I think, to be required reading for high-school students.
What will she do then? And how does one recover 4 1/2 years of false imprisonment in a foreign country? How would YOU deal with that loss in YOUR life?
AMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN SHE WASN’T A KILLER DAM PRETTY TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She did it.
BUT the prosecutor was a bit of a kook and the evidence was really suspect.
But she did it, I’ve no doubt. This doesn’t mean you go to jail because of a crappy trial.
The most damning evidence against her? She ADMITTED she did it.
I always find it difficult to go around that fact.
