Palin’s Poker Face
us4palin.com ^ | September 29, 2011 | Jelayne Sessler

Last night I wrote my thoughts on just what might possibly be going on in the Palin camp (which we know is comprised of Sarah and Todd):

Have you watched her interviews over the past few months? The commentary she uses to defer the “BIG question” is either, “still contemplating the huge life-changing decision” or more famously – “do I need a title to make a difference?”

It seems to me these statements are more like her “I can’t announce right here and now” rebuttal – and it’s absolutely brilliant. She keeps the world guessing, gives the media the runaround, and formulates a strategy to give her competitors the shock of their life.

The purpose of this verbiage is to create an atmosphere for complete and total surprise. It’s her “poker face,” her “expressionless face,” a face without any interpretable expression – as that of a good poker player, someone who doesn’t show any emotion of reaction so that people don’t know what they are planning.

Tonight Governor Palin spoke with Judge Napolitano on the Fox Business Channel. When asked about her plans for 2012 she replied, “You know, I hold my political cards close to my chest, I’ve certainly learned lessons along those lines and I’m going to continue to do that until I’m ready to make an announcement – this is a serious decision and I’m engaged in serious deliberations and within the next 24 hours don’t look for me to make a decision.”

All I have to say is, remind me never to play a hand of poker with the Governor.

>>The only way Palin can win is to first outwit and outmaneuver the GOP ruling-class.<<

The only way Gov. Palin can win is by running.

One would think, based on you and yours, that her very presence can overcome any “maneuvers.” If her message is sound and her principles true, why must she game?

C’mon folks....

I’ve been saying for OVER A YEAR that there isn’t any good reason for Sarah to declare any earlier than Late-October, early November.

The first filing deadlines don’t hit until mid-November, and it’s not like she has a name recognition problem.

All of this crybaby crap is over the top. Reagan didn’t declare until DECEMBER, and didn’t win in Iowa, if you recall.

Then go bother the Perry Supporters or the Cain supporters. Leave us deluded fools to entertain ourselves in peace if we upset your superior reasoning so. ;)

You look pretty foolish associating yourself with crazy people like us.

Think for a minute... You are FED UP? About what exactly? Suppose you are supporting someone else NOW? If someone, anyone, including Sarah P., gets in and you think that he or she is better, why would you care if they had waited until they were ready, or thought that early entries are ridiculous, or whatever... Sarah is running, and anyone who can’t figure that out probably can’t figure out who the best candidate is either. just sayin’

All warfare is based on deception.

All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.

“Look, if you choose to be one of Palin’s silly sycophants, that's your business.

To to disparage anothers’ character in your pursuit is unacceptable.”

ROTFLMAO, I would make a rebuttal comment, but your post says it all and cannot be improved upon.

The only way Gov. Palin can win is by running.

She's been running for four years.

If you want the same old result, go with the same old strategy.

BTW, how many successful Presidential campaigns have you advised in an official capacity?

Hopefully, she’ll “primary” Obama as a DINO.

That might be wild enough for her.

First, it was a movie and Ronald Reagan made Bedtime for Bonzo many years before he ran for governor.

Second, it’s absurd to compare Reagan with SP. Reagan spent years and years working on his ideas, studying the issues, debating them, speaking to audiences all over the country. He never backed away from a chance to state his principles.

The sad part is that SP could’ve been a great president. She has more natural politcal skills than the rest of the GOP field put together. Had she not quit her job and really honed her knowledge and speaking skills for the past 3 years, there is no doubt in my mind that she would be the frontrunner today.

Ronald Reagan was an actor, Mitt Romney wears holy underwear, Herman Cain ran a Pizza company, Al and Tipper Gore were the inspiration for “Love Story” (not true, I know), Obama chases a small white ball through the woods, John Edwards fell in love with a butt-ugly groupie, Donald Trump plays a pretend boss on TV, Newt Gingrich married a Joker (Nicholson’s version) look-alike by default, Chris Christie can’t pull the gravy IV out of his arm... and I could go on and on and on... But you think that Sarah P. is poison because she did a TV show? PDS

What’s absurd is you still trying to parrot liberal talking points. No more, no less. Don’t like being compared to liberals? Stop speaking like one and using their terms/talking points.

>>She’s been running for four years.<<

Funny, I missed the declaration. When was that?

>>If you want the same old result, go with the same old strategy.<<

So not running to run is some sort of “strategy?” Pissing off your supporters is a strategy? Playing coy is a “strategy?”

>>BTW, how many successful Presidential campaigns have you advised in an official capacity?<<

Well, Reagan used to call me when he was Governor but they tapered off just before the Presidential run.. (/sarc — unless you lie, I have as many under my belt as you and my opinion is as valid as yours — and mine holds together given the FACTS of the race to this moment. Yours is just fantasy wishing, since you can’t say how fsustrating your base accomplishes anything useful).

Point to ponder.

I’d love to see Sun Tzu alive and a poster on FR. All these PDS types would tell him he was an idiot and didn’t know what he was talking about.

18. All warfare is based on deception.

19. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable;
when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we
are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away;
when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

20. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder,
and crush him.

21. If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him.
If he is in superior strength, evade him.

22. If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to
irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

23. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.
If his forces are united, separate them.

24. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where
you are not expected.

25. These military devices, leading to victory,
must not be divulged beforehand.

“Silly Threshold”

She notes this as a “life-changing decision”-and you are upset she won’t follow YOUR timeline?

that observation ALONE....”life-changing decision” speaks volumes as to the integrity of any answer she finds finally to that question.

Who of us...in her shoes..with the media at our feet....with Senators and Congressmen standing in rows to receive her imprimatur...tens of thousands roaring in the wings for HER...could sit contemplatively..pondering, obviously praying, over such a “life-changing decision”. Most of us would rush the cameras in a heartbeat, as hard as Al Sharpton ever would, launching ourselves onto CNN, MSNBC, FOX etc. chasing our 15 minutes headlong into futility...

Regardless of what she decides, we will have been graced with her gifts such as they are already to our Republic...and consider any further offering of herself upon the national stage as a gift from Him, one far beyond what We as a nation deserve.
