Obama Administration to Ban Asthma Inhalers Over Environmental Concerns 3:00 PM, Sep 23, 2011 By MARK HEMINGWAY Single Page Print Larger Text Smaller Text Alerts
Remember how Obama recently waived new ozone regulations at the EPA because they were too costly? Well, it seems that the Obama administration is would rather make people with Asthma cough up money than let them make a surely inconsequential contribution to depleting the ozone layer:
Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government's latest attempt to protect the Earth's atmosphere.
The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.
The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.
But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.
The Atlantic's Megan McArdle, an asthma sufferer, noted a while back that when consumers are forced to deal with environmentally friendly products they're are almost always worse:
These people are evil, pure, unadulterated evil...............
Yeah, but we’re going to go make jobs, jobs, jobs, right?
Not the inhalators!!!
Crony Capitalism at work. This guy is an idiot.
Ok, I am out of town, forgot my inhalator, having a mild attack but have to find a doctor who does not know me or my history to get a scrip for an expensive inhalator rather than getting one at the drug store.
These people in the obama admin and crazy.
The bartender says: "What can I get you Mr. President?"
I dunno, seems appropriate. Everything else is clearly going to Hell. Happy Friday!
Obama to asthma patients; drop dead.
Here are the regs:

Must protect the environment from all those who may be able to breath if their Asthma is brought under control. Obama...deciding who can breath and who cannot.
I would imagine we will begin hearing about the uptick in emergency room visits for folks who would have otherwise just gone to Walgreens and purchased a 20 Primatene.
And they cant imagine why healthcare costs keep going up.
The SOB wouldn’t allow this if his kids needed these inhalators.
I despise these people. They are foul beyond imagination.
This article is a joke, right? The Weekly standard, is that like World weekly news and all that with Bat boy?
But, but, but
Poll: Majority of Americans say Obama’s presidency either about the same or worse than Bush’s.
About the same?
Good luck on breathing, people.
When they take over the ‘drug making’ we’ll really have problems.
Do you know who’s going to be hardest hit? Women and minorities:
In 2009, about 2,380,000 African Americans reported that they currently have asthma.
African American women were 30% more likely to have asthma than non-Hispanic White women, from 2001-2003.
In 2007, African Americans were three times more likely to die from asthma related causes than the White population.

Obama is an ignoramus, but even ignoramuses can pick sound advisers. This guy has ignoramuses for advisers too, and those ignoramus advisers consult with other ignoramuses who haven’t ever held a job in the private sector, and don’t have clue one to real world existence.
They live in a dream world, dreaming dreams embedded in dreams embedded in nightmares (for us).
Not exempting them would imply that they are not omniscient.
Ah, but his kids would be exempt!
