In his CPAC speech today, Rick Perry came out swinging, criticizing Romneycare vigorously and stressing that there was no connection between good debating and good governing.
"As conservatives, we know that values and vision matter," Perry said. "It's not who is the slickest candidate or the smoothest debater that we need to elect. We need to elect the candidate with the best record and the best vision for this country."

“The Republicans in congress would fight democRAT Obama...”
Yep, they’ve been doing a fine job of that.
You can't have it both ways, either debates matter or they don't, they can't just matter for Perry and no one else.
The reason they are not shooting up, is because debates don't matter. On a list of the 10 most important things a politician can possess to run successfully for office ... good debate skills wouldn't even be on the list.
Probably because he thinks people could figure that out on their own. He needs to realize that the majority of Ameicans don’t have a clue as to where the BORDER really is.
Do they still have geography as a requirement in Schools? Probably not. AND TEXAS has 1500 miles of border with MX.
Bring the troops home from the third world H holes and put them on the border to stop the hostilities. That is the ONLY way in Texas.
Bear to Eagle, it’s all of a piece and it’s all beautiful. In fact, there is nothing more beautiful.
Do you not see that their mantra of "Pass the bill" (his jobs/spending package) would not even be necessary were the dems still in control of the House?
Republicans could do a better job, sure. But Barry's spending spree has hit the skids and can only continue with cooperation from the Republicans.
How about some people quit being so sensitive. . . heartless??? You know he wasn’t name calling. . . just a figure of speech to explain his position. Sheesh.
“But Barry’s spending spree has hit the skids and can only continue with cooperation from the Republicans.”
Which perhaps makes a case for the greater importance of Congressional elections vs. the Presidential elections.
Apparently, TX residency doesnt require US citizenship to achieve state residency. Then the tuition debate boils down to a legal residency debate........a non-US resident should not be able to obtain state citizenship anywhere until they are a legal US citizen. Subsidized in-state college tuition should require legal citizenship of both the Nation and the state because the fed/govt subsidizes the tuition....... this is in every tax-paying citizens interest.........
A key question Perry failed to tell American is the number of identities legals and illegals are using.
Jose Madrigal, the Washington state rapist, had some 30 identities.
All of them riding the US gravy train. All of them cashing numerous
govt checks. And, as Perry knows well---all of the identities are voting.
Illegals are more likely to be collecting government checks than picking crops......despite the incessant latino-as-victim propaganda. One illegal used several identities obtained with forged documents to collect some $3.5 million unemployment checks..........and was convicted of identity theft.
========================
REFERENCE---illegals use numerous fake identities b/c they know it makes them harder to track. They got scams galore......they could be using one identity for in-state tuition, another to apply for legal status, and several more to ride the US gravy train. "Impoverished" illegals establish multiple identities by buying forged and falsified documents for several thousand dollars.
====================================
RIDING THE US GRAVY TRAIN An "impoverished" illegal gets a job mowing lawns for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that low wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, so each year, he files an Income Tax Return to get "EITC---earned income credit" of up to $3,200 scot-free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent. He qualifies for food stamps and no deductible, no co-pay free health care. His children get free school breakfasts and lunches. The kids qualify for monthly SSI checks when they fake ADD; the illegal and his wife get SSI if they fake being aged, blind or disabled; SSI qualifies them for Medicare. Plus illegals don't worry about pricey items like car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance, and qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
NOTE WELL: Earned Income Tax Credit is available only to immigrant workers who obtain legal work status. But the law allows immigrants to claim EITC for up to three years prior to obtaining that status. Workers simply file a tax return for the years in which they were not legally eligible to work in the US. The most widespread abuse stems from the requirement that children live with the worker for more than six months of the year. IRS does little to verify the claim. Many immigrants falsify applications, claiming non-existent children, or claiming children who theyve left behind with relatives. Those with two or more children and income below $32,121 could get as much as $4,008. It is estimated that illegals got $22 billion EITC.
“Will you fence people PLEASE answer THAT question?”
I don’t know what that question means.
The Israelis built a fence in GAZA and it works AMAZINGLY WELL in controlling the flow of people between the territories. Don’t tell me that the length of the border or the terrain prohibits it. That’s defeatist. The Chinese built the Great Wall.
People always say “we have 14 million illegals. We can’t deport all of them.” I say you start one person at a time and you make it EXTREMELY uncomfortable for people to come here or stay here illegally. Eventually they will start to go back of their own volition.
With the drought going on in Texas, it would be such an easy comeback for Perry to just look at the commentator, the audience and then the other candidate and ask if they want to cut Texas off from water all together.
My great grandfather spent 4 years living in Canada waiting for approval to come to America after swearing his intent to immigrate from Austria.
I can see how that subtle difference in wording yet enormous difference in meaning would escape a PerryBot but one would think that the governor of Texas who wants to be the next POTUS would know the difference. Then again, as Perry proved in last night's debate, he's not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Indeed it could. Having a conservative Republican president would be great. And, as President Reagan proved, even with a demoRAT controlled congress things can get done. But it's not likely in this political climate; the dems are full of hate and, given that they seem to be on a path to destroy this country they would not likely be open to the ideas of a Republican president who wants to save it.
Haaaaa. Well I've tried to like him too, and he's been my Governor for 11 years. The reason he has been elected three times is because the other candidates were so much worse. Don't believe me? Ask any born here Texan why they voted for Perry. "To keep the others out". That's what you will get.
The first part of your post is retarded and the second part is dead wrong. For you, Obama is better than Perry.
This post is a keeper. LOL
Interesting that your hero is falling like a rock, isn't it? Sorta proves me right. And I've got tons of keepers from you blind PerryBots. So save away.
Perry is suffering from terminal “ foot-in-mouth “ disease : )
We agree. We need to seal that border. As Mexico goes down that road to revolution, we need to have an impenetrable border in place very soon. I am now thinking towards a fence, even though I know it can be defeated. A fence will slow their progress so the troops and air reconnasance can locate them and introdict them. We cannot afford to absorb a mass migration from the south as death and destruction implode the Mexican society. We may well be on the edge ourselves and a trigger like a “Southern Spring” may be all it takes.
Time does not allow me to go into it more. Just like the debate did not allow the candidates to go into the details like I wish they could have.
