I saw the GOP debate and the Greta interview with Palin and Bachman. I am absolutely against Perry's mandate of the Gardasil vaccine. On policy grounds. Period.
But, to see the two ladies pile on with corruption charges against Perry was truly disgusting. If they have any proof that Perry mandated the vaccine to profit Merck, I am the first one who wants it. And, if proof emerges that he did so, I will be the first one to revoke my support for him.
It happens in the industry all the time. Acquaintances get you an audience. So, in this case, the fact that Perry's previous staffer was a lobbyist must have gotten the meeting. A meeting to hear about this wonderous cancer curing drug. Nothing corrupt about it. Is there more to the reason Perry made such a call? Possible/Probable. Evidence of it? None so far.
Come on. Do Palin and Bachman have to resort to gutter politics to get themselves better positioned?
Sarah knows nothing...THERE IS NOTHING TO KNOW.
Listen, grasshopper. PerryCARE (Gardasil by RINO Order)
profited Perry (a little), his Chief of Staff (bingo)
and many others. Everyone that knew in advance.
How special is that?
So what. Where is the corruption there. Just a bunch a babble about a drug company and its drug. Apparently you don’t have any kids. Do you know how many immunizations are required to allow your kid to go to public school and that they are NOT OPT OUT. Find some evidence of corruption or be prepared for me to be laugh at.
It was a terrible policy decision on behalf of Perry. On multiple grounds. But, to accuse him of being corrupt and having mandated it to profit Merck is just downright ugly.
Perry to parents: I deem you irrelevant by Executive Order. It should have been up to the parents. Some girls died, allegedly after it. I never allowed my children to take medicines less than 20 years old. If a med is going to adversely affect them or their future children I want to know. Anything rushed or mandated makes me weary. If it is truly a medical Miracle it will not need a mandate. The simple fact that medicines can form immune complexes that deposit on tissues assures me we do not understand long term issues with any medication.
Chief of staff, lobbyist, smells like a re-fried Texas skunk.
Gardasil was not tested in children.
The chaste children of Texas were LAB RATS, bunko.
To a RINO that is not corruption, it is opportunity, right?
Rick Perry is nothing more then what she said, a crony capitalist. As far as I’m concerned he’s done.
It is widely known that Perry mandated the use of gardasil for school children, and that gardasil is a very dangerous drug.
Diogenesis has assembled links to some of the numerous relevant articles about this.
It makes sense to have shots for some diseases. Mandating that young schoolgirls should be required to get dangerous and questionable shots useful only against STDs was just plain WRONG.
Bachman was over the top on this. What a nasty drama queen she turned out to be. I used to like her. Not only is she not going to be president, I hope she loses her congressional seat.
I’m absolutely shocked, a thieving politician makes money for his cronies at taxpayer expense.
But this will continue until every American supports taking each and every one of them out to the woodshed regardless of Party. Instead of tolerating crooked politicians they need to be ostracized and removed from ever having influence again over USA citizens.
We need ZERO TOLERANCE of corruption or kickbacks for any official from cops to POTUS’s that have taken an oath of office regardless of their Party. They need to be fearful of even having the appearance of cronyism or corruption.
Well, Merck would have profited.
That was one nonsensical post.
Its off how so called “concerned” Perry haters adopt the talking points of the Soros media like this crony capitalism left wing talking point !
During that debate, Perry said he got $5,000 from Merck, adn he raised $30M. He said to Bachmann: If you think I can be bought for $5,000, I am offended”. It left her speechless. This was the right response against such ludicrous accusations which are nothing more than smears.
Bachmann should be ashamed of herself.
I have been looking for clerical work and there have been some good positions I have seen in some of the hospitals here. However, if one gets hired for a clerical position, they must show proof of immunization records and have all shots current, as well as getting a TB test.
I know these women are harping on the HPV vaccine but there is an opt out for that.
These shots do not just affect kids, they can affect adults as well.
Actually Huntsman did pretty well, for this debate at least. He didn’t say anything anti-conservative such as defending Romneycare mandates or tuition breaks for illegals. His tax plan is pretty good. We do know he has a problem with social issues but they weren’t really mentioned.
But Ron Paul was the biggest loser after his attempt to ‘understand’ al qaeda. And everyone will be talking about the idiot who said Yes!

I believe it is rational for the big drug companies to make the case for their products, even to our elected officials. I do however expect our elected officials to consult with people holding enough varied opinions, that rational decisions can be made, despite the hard sell.
I believe it would be wrong to freeze a company like Merck out, when it comes to a product they think will save lives. I do think there are rational arguments for holding off on going with a government mandate right out of the box, and wiser heads should have prevailed here.
Perry should know, that presenting this information to the Legislature and allowing a lot more discussion would be the best course.
I am astounded that he used the Executive Order for this. I am also astounded that he forced parents and girls opt out, rather than provide access and allow them to opt in.
There’s some seriously flawed logic on his part demonatrated in conjunction with this.
I do think that it is overkill to state this is definitely a case of Perry giving favors to pharmaceutical industry insiders.
That’s pretty tough to prove.
