Thug.
(TPM) Teamsters union president James Hoffa would say it all again if he could, he told TPM Monday.
Hoffa riled up Fox News and the right wing Monday with a Labor Day speech in Detroit in which he called Republican members of Congress sons of bitches and said union workers are ready to go to war with the tea party next year and take out Republicans at the ballot box.
Hoffa said hed say the exact same words all over again.
I would because I believe it, he said. Theyve declared war on us. We didnt declare war on them, they declared war on us. Were fighting back. The question is, who started the war?

Since the teamsters signed off on the Consent Decree the DOJ effectively runs the union under a federal trusteeship
Hoffa Lite doesn't sneeze without an OK from DOJ
.
Typical lying union.
Like every pet demographic of the left,
they assume that they’ll have government (military, law enforcement) backing if they turn violent and people defend themselves with force.
We like a good fight. And you know what, they got a war and they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner and it's going to be the workers of Michigan and America. We're going to win that war. All the way. But it starts with your involvement. It starts with next November. We got a bunch of people there that don't want the president to succeed. And they're called the tea party. The people that don't want him to do anything right and he's working hard for us. And president Obama is frustrated by what's going on. Well guess what. We got the vote. And the answer what we say is, `we remember in November.' We will beat the tea party and give this country back to workers and America. ...He looks out on this army of people and you know what I say, `President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march.' And, President Obama we want one thing - jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs... That's what we're going to tell him. When he sees what we're doing here he's going to be inspired. But he needs help. And, you know what. Everybody here's gotta vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize - Let's take these sons a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong. Thank you very much.
“Labor” Day is a national holiday for unions and thugs.
I will never celebrate “labor” again. It is officially a sin in my mind and heart. “Labor” is not moral, is not Christian, is not American, is not Patriotic.
I am creating a new national holiday. A day to celebrate the productivity of America’s workforce from the lowliest worker to the owners and CEO...it will take place on September 1st. It will be a symbolic celebration of every business that has had a successful year.
Who started the war?
When the first Democrat - Cain, killed the first Republican - Able...
Sounds like to me that Hoffa made “terroristic threats”. If it is true that they are an “army”, then the Teamsters are a terrorist organization. So where is Homeland Security?
Yes. Written reports also lack the context of his remarks. This is typical - the media is nothing more than a bunch of two-bit agitators.
” The question is, who started the war?
Democrats, union member Democrats, voting to Tax & Spend the rest of us.
The context is freely available and it doesn’t make it look any better.
Fox reported the things that were unusual about the speech, which is what news reporting does, and while it is pretty normal for union organizers to get up and yell about jobs, it’s not normal for them to call their political opponents “son of a bitches” and threaten to “take them out.” And those were his literal words, and no amount of leftist massaging can make that go away or claim that Fox did anything but report them.
Excellent post. Thank you.
“The disloyal opposition”
I can’t believe FReepers are playing the MMFA “context card” on this one. Not one thing Hoffa said prior to his war cry to “take out” us “sons of bitches” mitigates those words in the slightest. Sometimes we really are our own worst enemies.
I agree. But the people who are saying this silly “context” thing (and there is NOTHING about the context that makes these words acceptable) are generally the ones I’d expect to be doing so.
Daddy like!
"...at the ballot box." 'nuf said. I'm not worried.
It took me awhile to find the context. A good part of the online print reports don't contain the "vote" and "November" parts of Hoffa's remarks.
While I think his rhetoric was over the top, the context does change the tenor, at least slightly. Absent "vote" and "November" (which is the way the remarks are reported), the remarks are a pure call to violence.
-- those were his literal words, and no amount of leftist massaging can make that go away or claim that Fox did anything but report them. --
I believe that in its broadcast news, Fox reported his literal words outside of context. Perhaps I'm mistaken, and they have always mentioned the sentences that included "vote" and "November."
