WASHINGTON (AP) Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is pounding away at rival Rick Perrys skepticism of manmade global warming and criticism of the nations central banker, saying those stands hurt the GOP and make the Texas governor come off as a not so serious national figure.
Huntsman, a former Utah governor who was President Barack Obamas first ambassador to China, has trailed in early polls nationally and in early voting states, leading his campaign to pledge more aggressive attacks on the top candidates.
Perry, who entered the race last weekend and has surged to a prominent role, has provided Huntsman with an ample opening to take shots.
Perry said in New Hampshire this past week that he didnt believe in manmade global warming, branding it an unproven scientific theory. He also defended the teaching of creationism in schools because evolution has some gaps to it.
When we take a position that isnt willing to embrace evolution, when we take a position that basically runs counter to what 98 of 100 climate scientists have said, what the National Academy of Science has said about what is causing climate change and mans contribution to it, I think we find ourselves on the wrong side of science, and, therefore, in a losing position, Huntsman told ABCs This Week.

Huntsman started off slowly and is now tapering off.
When they decided carbon dioxide — plant food — was the main contributor to global warming, I knew they had lost their minds. Instead of going after real pollutants, the EPA is waging war against plant food.
Glen Beck has been telling us how great Huntsman Sr. is for quite a while. Next thing I know Huntsman Jr is in the presidential race.
The strategy for Huntsman to elevate the debate by being strongly fiscal conservative with a serious record at the same time going after the anti-science “know-nothing” wing of the party (creationism etc) is going to win him a LOT of moderate Republican (current Romney), Independent and disaffected Democrat voters.
Just wait and see. :)
“Who the heck is Jon Huntsman?”
Huntsman is a democrat operative and a hero to RINO’s.
[ He has fooled a lot of people here on FR and he is no Bachmann, Palin or West. ]
Not really.. Some freepers are not freepers.. they are poseurs..
On the other hand no matter the subject some freepers will be against “it”..
If only just to challenge the concept..
Like me, I think Reagan was too liberal... not a well received view..
Some freepers are just contrary.. I love this place..
Why not?.. they are JUST ideas anyway..
Its hard to tell what a freeper really “believes”...
Depends on the day...
After a speech, for example, by Barry Half-White...
Some freepers are looking for something to be against..
Just looking for something to trigger a negative screed..
I’ve done it many times.. using FR for an outlet for frustration.. WELL GOD BLESS THEM(us)..
FR sometimes keeps us sane... kinda..
You’re 100% correct. If Perry is elected he will carry on where Obama left off. He is a closet socialist who is out to ruin the country. We need to nominate a REAL conservative who agrees with us on every single issue but has no chance in hell of beating Obama.
My republican governor loves pinwheels too.
Its irritating that he does so many good things then turns around and spews the green economy crap. We needed John Engler, not John Muir.
Unpublicized but certainly not secret:
The present invention is directed to a method of residential emissions trading and a residential emissions trading commodity. In particular, an embodiment of the present invention is a method for identifying, quantifying, and aggregating reductions in residential emissions into a tradable commodity. The step of quantifying the emissions reduction may further comprise the steps of measuring an energy savings resulting from the energy savings opportunity and calculating the emissions reduction resulting from the energy savings. The method may further comprise the steps of verifying the quantification of the emissions reduction and monitoring the residential energy savings opportunities and the quantification of the emissions reduction.
This patent is assigned to Fannie Mae and was issued in 2002. There are 4 subsequent patents that reference it:
PAT. NO. Title

2 7,529,705 Full-Text Electronic trading system for simulating the trading of carbon dioxide equivalent emission reductions and methods of use
3 7,343,341 Full-Text Systems and methods for trading emission reductions
4 7,133,750 Full-Text System and method for residential emissions trading
5 6,904,336 Full-Text System and method for residential emissions trading
Anybody can beat Obama so why would you want a RINO? How did that McCain thing work out for ya?
Who? Huntsman who? Huh? LOL!
Thank you, NewHampshireDuo!
Huntsman’s still in the race?!? Pathetic...
Epic Fail.
What a disappointment Huntsman is turning into.
He could have been outstanding. If he was more like Donald Trump, and less like Al Gore.
.....Huntsman started off slowly and is now tapering off.....
Just imagine his self esteem. His daddy groomed him for President and he is just flailing around.
Fail. Embarrassment. Shame.
I bet most of this guy’s campaign funds come from kenya.
I had the misfortune of watching part of ABC World “News” Tonight on Saturday night.
They had an interview with Huntsman, and the reporter was saying that all of the other GOP hopefuls are “fringe” candidates and Huntsman is the mainstream, etc. It was stomach turning.
Thankfully, Huntsman has no chance of getting the nomination. I wouldn’t vote for him if he did. Shame on the Bush family for pushing this guy, Obama-lite.
Absolutely....he doesn’t poll worth a crap and trying cheap Democrat tricks won’t gain him any traction.
Debate organizers are well-justified in keeping him out on the basis of lousy polling.
I’ve recently seen Democrats whining about Huntsman leaving the race on a neutral forum I’m on, which says all that needs to be said. They didn’t believe it when a fellow conservative there commented “Never heard of him.” Which also says a lot.
