WASHINGTON (AP) Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is pounding away at rival Rick Perrys skepticism of manmade global warming and criticism of the nations central banker, saying those stands hurt the GOP and make the Texas governor come off as a not so serious national figure.
Huntsman, a former Utah governor who was President Barack Obamas first ambassador to China, has trailed in early polls nationally and in early voting states, leading his campaign to pledge more aggressive attacks on the top candidates.
Perry, who entered the race last weekend and has surged to a prominent role, has provided Huntsman with an ample opening to take shots.
Perry said in New Hampshire this past week that he didnt believe in manmade global warming, branding it an unproven scientific theory. He also defended the teaching of creationism in schools because evolution has some gaps to it.
When we take a position that isnt willing to embrace evolution, when we take a position that basically runs counter to what 98 of 100 climate scientists have said, what the National Academy of Science has said about what is causing climate change and mans contribution to it, I think we find ourselves on the wrong side of science, and, therefore, in a losing position, Huntsman told ABCs This Week.

This strategy (using other GOP members, like McCain, Huntsman and Rove) is becoming the RINO establishment's attack machine for use on 'conservative' GOP candidates? They are fighting for control of the GOP and feel threatened by wave of Tea Party conservatism.
I thought that was suppose to be DNC's Debbie Wiseass Schultz' job. Huntsman obviously wasn't paying attention when Pawlenty attacked Bachmann and paid the price.
Advice for Huntsman - QUIT while you behind!

Huntsperson will end up helping Perry by reminding voters that Perry believes global warming is bull shiite just as they do.

Who cares? No one in the GOP, certainly. This is just newsrag fodder.

Trailed? He hasn't topped 1% in any recent poll, and has been dead last in 5 out of last 6 national polls.
That would be a joke candidacy. But I guess as long as he trashes conservative ideology he'll get media coverage.

The problem here is that Perry is NOT A CONSERVATIVE. He may look that way compared to Huntsman and Romney but check his record on things such as immigration, vaccines, federal dollars, etc. etc. etc. He has fooled a lot of people here on FR and he is no Bachmann, Palin or West.

In this case they're both full of it.
Gov. Perry Announces TEF Investment in Solar Power Company
AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry today announced the state will invest $1 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) in HelioVolt Corp. of Austin for the construction of a 125,000 square foot manufacturing facility and development space to test and produce the companys thin-film solar power cells, which convert sunlight into electricity. The deal will create nearly 160 jobs and $62 million in capital investment.
HelioVolt Corp. puts off growth. Plant is ready but demand not there yet
After months of stealthy operations, solar cell maker HelioVolt Corp. has delayed by two years its job creation projections.
Gov. Rick Perry: Wind Energy Keeps Texas' Air Clean and Our Future Bright
Texas doesn't just believe in the potential of wind energy, we are reaping its benefits already. People who talk about wind energy as a technology of the future clearly haven't been to West Texas lately: the future of wind energy in Texas is now. I probably don't need to spend too much time talking about the benefits of wind energy to a bunch of people who specialize in this remarkable technology, but a few things really stand out for me. I am proud that our state's installed wind generation capacity leads the nation, a place we did not reach by accident.
(snip)
Just last year, nearly $3 billion worth of wind-powered electric generators were installed, twice as much as any other state. This addition of more than 1,600 megawatts of capacity bumped up our total wind capacity by 59 percent. And the hits keep on coming. For example, this afternoon, one of the world's largest manufacturers of alternative energy equipment is announcing a new research facility here in Houston. And I recently got word that Hill Country Wind Power has acquired the Wind Turbine Company and is moving their manufacturing operations from Bellevue, Washington to the Lone Star state. With progress like this, I am confident we'll hit the next milestone, 10,000 megawatts, or 10% of our current capacity, well before the deadline in 2025.

A lot about Perry I like but if he runs on this crap (I doubt he’ll be mentioning it much) he will get destroyed on the right.

As I understand (from a thread post on FR) during the latest heat wave in Texas, all those wind farms they have, failed to provide the electricity they promised to provide.
