This strategy (using other GOP members, like McCain, Huntsman and Rove) is becoming the RINO establishment's attack machine for use on 'conservative' GOP candidates? They are fighting for control of the GOP and feel threatened by wave of Tea Party conservatism.

I thought that was suppose to be DNC's Debbie Wiseass Schultz' job. Huntsman obviously wasn't paying attention when Pawlenty attacked Bachmann and paid the price.

Advice for Huntsman - QUIT while you behind!

Huntsperson will end up helping Perry by reminding voters that Perry believes global warming is bull shiite just as they do.

Who cares? No one in the GOP, certainly. This is just newsrag fodder.

Huntsman, a former Utah governor who was President Barack Obama’s first ambassador to China, has trailed in early polls nationally and in early voting states

Trailed? He hasn't topped 1% in any recent poll, and has been dead last in 5 out of last 6 national polls.

That would be a joke candidacy. But I guess as long as he trashes conservative ideology he'll get media coverage.

...basically runs counter to what 98 of 100 climate scientists have said, what the National Academy of Science has said...

Yes, and most doctors smoke Camel cigarettes. Toss in a couple of celeb spokesmen, and I'm certain RINO Huntsman would become a chain smoker...

In this case they're both full of it.

Gov. Perry Announces TEF Investment in Solar Power Company

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the state will invest $1 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) in HelioVolt Corp. of Austin for the construction of a 125,000 square foot manufacturing facility and development space to test and produce the company’s thin-film solar power cells, which convert sunlight into electricity. The deal will create nearly 160 jobs and $62 million in capital investment.

HelioVolt Corp. puts off growth. Plant is ready but demand not there yet

After months of stealthy operations, solar cell maker HelioVolt Corp. has delayed by two years its job creation projections.

Gov. Rick Perry: Wind Energy Keeps Texas' Air Clean and Our Future Bright

Texas doesn't just believe in the potential of wind energy, we are reaping its benefits already. People who talk about wind energy as a technology of the future clearly haven't been to West Texas lately: the future of wind energy in Texas is now. I probably don't need to spend too much time talking about the benefits of wind energy to a bunch of people who specialize in this remarkable technology, but a few things really stand out for me. I am proud that our state's installed wind generation capacity leads the nation, a place we did not reach by accident.

(snip)

Just last year, nearly $3 billion worth of wind-powered electric generators were installed, twice as much as any other state. This addition of more than 1,600 megawatts of capacity bumped up our total wind capacity by 59 percent. And the hits keep on coming. For example, this afternoon, one of the world's largest manufacturers of alternative energy equipment is announcing a new research facility here in Houston. And I recently got word that Hill Country Wind Power has acquired the Wind Turbine Company and is moving their manufacturing operations from Bellevue, Washington to the Lone Star state. With progress like this, I am confident we'll hit the next milestone, 10,000 megawatts, or 10% of our current capacity, well before the deadline in 2025.

When they decided carbon dioxide — plant food — was the main contributor to global warming, I knew they had lost their minds. Instead of going after real pollutants, the EPA is waging war against plant food.

Glen Beck has been telling us how great Huntsman Sr. is for quite a while. Next thing I know Huntsman Jr is in the presidential race.

The strategy for Huntsman to elevate the debate by being strongly fiscal conservative with a serious record at the same time going after the anti-science “know-nothing” wing of the party (creationism etc) is going to win him a LOT of moderate Republican (current Romney), Independent and disaffected Democrat voters.

Just wait and see. :)

The most effective (and, really, the only) way to tear down the myths of global warming is to attack the premise - stated or implicit - that it is human activity that caused, and continues to cause, global warming.

That should be the primary avenue of attack because (1) the basic data regarding the global mean temperature has, in fact, shown at least something of a warming trend of late, and railing against dumb facts and basic realities is something liberals do, not conservatives, and (2) the data regarding the supposed causal relationship of human activity has been demonstrably forged - as has already been proven - and the computer models the global warming cultists use to "prove" their causal beliefs are orders of magnitude weaker than the financial computer models that failed to pick up on the risks of the financial crash that happened in 2008 - if the global warming cult's computer models were used for financial modelling, we'd have a financial crash at least once a month or so.

Basically, don't pick a fight you don't have to; if someone wants to argue the cultists' version of global warming, go right ahead and grant - strictly for the sake of argument, of course - that the mean global temperature is likely rising, and then destroy them on the issue of whether or not that warming trend is being caused by human activity. This should be most effective because (1) the acceptance that the data shows a warming trend - for whatever reason - will throw the global warming cultist off balance, and (2) they simply will not be able to counter-argue the fact that the data on cause have been forged and tampered with, and that the computer models used to "predict" that humans have caused global warming are so fallible that you'd be better off predicting that cause with a coin toss.

Epic Fail.

What a disappointment Huntsman is turning into.

He could have been outstanding. If he was more like Donald Trump, and less like Al Gore.
