Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., will appoint Democratic Sens. Patty Murray of Washington, Max Baucus of Montana, and John Kerry of Massachusetts to the new super committee tasked with finding $1.2 trillion in additional deficit reduction by November 23, according to a senior Democratic aide familiar with Reids decision, which is expected to be made public as early as Wednesday.
Additionally, Murray is expected to co-chair the committee, officially named the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, along with a still unnamed House Republican. A spokesman for Reid did not respond to a request for comment.
Reids decision to tap Murray will likely be met with scrutiny, as she is also chairing the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for the 2012 election cycle. But she is also a member of leadership, a senior member of the Budget Committee, and a woman on what is likely to be a male-dominated committee.

so these are going to be 3 of the people appointed to do Obama’s job.
Inspiring a new tagline
Kerry and Murray are excellent choices...they’re both quite lousy with numbers, but great at repeating talking points from the morning fax.
I fear you are right about those three.
Great. Dumber, dumberer, and dumbererer.
These Senators are remarkably stupid people. So much for the “Super Committee!”
John Kerry? Like catchup on french fries. No tea, please. “Do you know who I am?” I’m Irish again this week. Look at my purple hearts. What state is Boston in again? I need to keep up on these things.
Given the Reid picks the best possible outcome is certainly the auto triggers because there is no way those three idiots are going to propose anything but tax hikes and defense cuts. They are three profoundly un-serious picks.
Maybe not.
Pentagon cuts (our current budget has very little to do with “defense”) are fine with me. Conservatives simply need to realize that we can’t afford to keep policing the planet. We’re broke. It will be interesting to see if any down-the-line defenders of the Pentagon come out for tax increases at the last minute before the triggers! BTW, I find it amusing how many conservatives suddenly become promoters of baseline budgeting when it comes to the Pentagon.
I would be willing to bet money on that statement!
Heavens! Can’t these failed creepy crawlers just stay in the dustbins of history...or maybe teach at Berkeley or Harbaad...
If true, why should anyone be surprised? We knew that the dims would load the Super Committee with libtards. The Republicans should have known this, but they apparently can’t see the forest through the trees.
