Obama had his top General fly to Afghanistan to tell the troops serving there that their families may not get paid if a debt agreement is not reached.

I agree. I think to say that Obama had him fly there to deliver this message is hyperbole. He was answering a question to him in a forum setting and, IMO, answered it honestly.

I agree with you about Obama having to fly Mullen there to deliver that messgage. However, he is the CJCS visiting a combat zone talking to young Airmen, Soldiers and Sailors, he should have known that one of the main things these Warriors were concerned about was getting paid. Many live pay check to pay check. I know I did for my first 7 years in the military. He should have had some type of promise from the CINC, that military pay would be of the highest priority, and not give the Troops anymore things to worry about.

1) We do not know how much money currently is in the treasury.
2) The disbursement of funds out of the Treasury is not set by anyone but the Treasury. They can pay for whatever they want in whatever sequence they want.

What a dishonest fool we have in the White House. Who in their right mind would give such distressing news to someone in the middle of a war? Besides the fact the direct military pay was deposited July 29 for the month of August. Each day I find more reasons to honestly dislike this poor excuse for a President.
