A federal appeals court in Cincinnati on Wednesday upheld the health-care law passed by Congress last year, saying the law's requirement for most Americans to carry insurance or pay a penalty is constitutional.
The vote was 2-1 on the three-judge panel on the key question of whether the insurance requirement exceeded Congress's powers under the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution. The majority concluded that it did not.

I hate to even think you are right but its entirely possible that you are. If so we are facing the 1776 solution and its going to be ugly.
“I dont think you are on the right website.”
Wrong website? Are you saying the website Free republic is not dedicated to the idea of a FREE republic, as apposed to an oligarchy of 9 federal employees in black robes.
Perhaps it is you with wild and demonstratively hopeless dilutions of appointing a new set of Dictators are on the wrong website...
“Quite frankly what you are saying sounds a lot like what a number of anarchists talk about.”
I ain’t no anarchist I am a Constitutional republican, and that means I support a Republican goverment of laws Not dictators in black robes.
“There is more than one way to skin a cat brother, and I am not interested in what you are discussing. Please leave me out of it.”
As you wish, but based upon your method despite endless attempts failing to even remove a hair from the Cat. I find myself doubting very much you ever had any desire to skin that cat.
Perhaps maybe your honest but simply insane... As Einstein said insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. You and your predecessors have been at this for more then 100 years with results that are quite contradictory to your stated aim.
;)
Coming from you, I wear a badge of *supreme* conservatism.
Sorry but no unfunded mandate of the states or the people is Constitutional. This isn’t a tax, it’s a requirement to buy something. This appeals court is dead wrong!
If we’re going down this road, let’s also make it a mandate that every American must purchase at least one gun.
Ummm hummm.
You are the one talking about overthrowing a government. I am not into civil war, sorry that prospect daunts me. As it should you.
I prefer change from within.
Keep your illusions of superiority to yourself. I am not impressed, nor am I moved by your arguments of delusion to take up your point of view. Not even close.
Note: Insulting someone will not encourage them to listen to your position. You invalidate yourself and your point of view (worthy or not) with your hostility.
Don’t bother responding. It’s ok, I already know I am not ‘worthy’ of your time so save the bs. kthksbai.
Even if SCOTUS says it’s Constitutional, I refuse. It’s that simple. I’m not giving in.
Absolutely insane. I hate seeing the courts play football with people’s lives and Constitutionally guaranteed inalienable rights. Get it to SCOTUS because they’re just spouting nonsense until then, IMHO.
Let’s count how many crimes that family in the painting is committing, where they living today:
1. The husband is openly carrying a rifle in public.
2. The rifle is loaded.
3. There is no gun lock on it, and being carried in an approved, lockable case.
4. He is disturbing the peace.
5. The girl is picking flowers. Are they on public land? Are the flowers endangered?
6. The woman is clutching a Bible... horrors!
7. I see erosion on the path. Do they have an EPA permit to walk there?
If these people lived today, they would already be detained and child welfare services would be coming to take the child away from them.
We are lost.
“There is no gurantee that the Supreme Court will take the case.”
I would stake my life on the bet they will. In fact we are all betting our lives.
That’s my attitude, too.
As you stated, we are literally betting our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
I don't like it, but the majority of those that voted do and did. That crap "I was duped", I was deceived" is a bunch of bullshit. obama never lied about what his plans were for this Nation. obamacare or "healthcare reform" happened to be one of them.
If there is any silver lining to an otherwise black cloud, is that the parasites that put him in the White House will eventually be eliminated by him also.
Getting back to our lives and the lives of our loved ones,if we will not fight with any means necessary to defend them,we deserve to lose them. And we will. The enemy no longer resides across the oceans. The enemy now resides within the continental boundries of the United States. And he intends to kill us just as dead as and German, Italian, Japanese, North Korean, Comminest Chinese soldier or Viet Cong would.
But this one actually deals with inactivity, not an activity that could actually be called commerce. If the Supreme Court rules that the government can force people to buy health insurance, there will be absolutely no limits to the commerce clause.
"Supreme conservatism" to you means agreeing wholeheartedly with leftist academia.
That's quite the admission, but I'm glad you acknowledged your unholy alliance. Too bad others of your 'super-con' friends don't recognize that your level of BDS lands you squarely in the la la land of the enemy.
You're a good sport for admitting it, dragnet. Thanks. :)
The comparison was ludicrous, regardless of the fact that you imagine that he was a globalist (You obviously didn't pay any attention to his UN speeches, his refusal to sign Kyoto, etc., etc.......but that's a subject for another thread).
Words mean things, screamin. And when you say ridiculous things, don't expect rational people to agree with you.
We never will.
Try to shake it off. You have been duped.
Duped by being staunchly pro-life and pro-military?
Duped by being a rational human being?
Are you unable to think. I think Obama is even worse than Bush. But BOTH suck. Get a Brain.
