Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to shrink the overall size of government programs.
The administrations plan to raise the tax rate on small businesses is part of its plan to raise taxes on all Americans who make more than $250,000 per yearincluding businesses that file taxes the same way individuals and families do. Geithners explanation of the administration's small-business tax plan came in an exchange with first-term Rep. Renee Ellmers (R.-N.C.). Ellmers, a nurse, decided to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 after she became active in the grass-roots opposition to President Barack Obamas proposed health-care reform plan in 2009.
Overwhelmingly, the businesses back home and across the country continue to tell us that regulation, lack of access to capital, taxation, fear of taxation, and just the overwhelming uncertainties that our businesses face is keeping them from hiring, Ellmers told Geithner. They just simply cannot.

“...and other cells must sacrifice in order to keep the cancer alive....”
It’s really become quite transparent what they’re doing, is it not? There’s really very little wonder left to the observant.
Communists simply cannot think in any other way.
I’ve been doing worldview studies for years, and one thing I’ve found about leftists’ worldview - they don’t even know they HAVE a worldview, their assumptions are never even seen as assumptions.
On the other hand, those with a conservative or Christian, or Biblical worldview [usually] fully understand the basis of their beliefs and understand why others come to different conclusions - because they have a different basis of belief.
In other words, the “fish” that is immersed in the “water” of communist thought doesn’t know he’s wet.
Congress is pissant, greedy, and weak.
Lets seize what is left of American small businesses, now.
Why would anyone expect anything else from a Cabal of Communists bent on destroying America from within?
Words cannot describe..........
We're not doing it because we want to do it, we're doing it because if we don't do it, then, again, I have to go out and borrow a trillion dollars over the next 10 years to finance those tax benefits for the top 2 percent, and I don't think I can justify doing that, said Geithner.
A 'tax benefit'? He makes it sound like those over 250K are cheating the govt out of tax revenue as if they were cheating on welfare. These people actually believe the govt creates wealth. Without the efforts of citizens to support themselves, there would be no wealth.
The real problem is that govt is taking and borrowing the fruits of the hard work of people at an excessive rate, and has for too long had a 'spending benefit' that we have financed. Now they want to take even more for their govt programs, the result of which will be more layoffs and even more people on govt programs. Death spiral anyone?
Geithner won't finance any deficits with his tax increase. With the shortfalls we are running, we could confiscate the entire wealth of all the billionaires in the U.S. and we wouldn't plug the gap for one year.
“Taxes on Small Business Must Rise So Government Doesnt Shrink”
And the mainstream media can’t figure out why small biz isn’t hiring??
All wet is more like it.
The 'O - so - obvious' truth that must not be spoken.
It’s like they’re trying to look stupid on purpose. It’s like they’re living out one of those Naked Gun movies.
You must destroy the bourgeoisie. Best way to do this is with inflation and taxation.
Obama & Co. are right on cue. You cannot have central planning with small businesses at the table.
Their goal is that we are all become equal—equally poor. The Pilgrims tried it (communal living) and it failed miserably, the Soviets tried it on a massive scale and it failed massively. Now this administration is determined to do likewise. Have you had enough yet?
