John McCain and Sarah Palin have long insisted things are all good between them, even after their losing 2008 presidential effort wound up with a nasty bout finger pointing between loyalists to the two former running mates. But the family members of both candidates are not being so publicly amicable.
As ABC News's Sheila Marikar reports, Bristol Palin trashes the McCain clan in her new upcoming memoir, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far."
It's unclear from Marikar's report whether the 20-year-old Palin daughter e specifically mentions her mother's running mate, her book does slam McCain's wife, Cindy, for acting like "royalty" and accuses the senator's 26-year-old daughter, Meghan, of being a snobby whiner.
Palin writes that she had a "sneaking suspicion I might need to watch my back" the first time she met Meghan McCain. She says the senator's daughter "ignored" the family during their first meet-and-greet and always seemed to be judging them.
"Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining," Bristol Palin writes. "Oh the complaining."
Cindy McCain, Palin writes, looked like a "queen" and conducted "herself like royalty." "I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," Palin writes.

...in your disgraceful opinion.
I hope Sarah realizes how much support she has. IF she elects not to run...many of her supporters will not return...shell be yesterdays news. End of Story....
I might have said “ostentatiously rich,” to be more clear.
Why is she a disgrace? She gave birth to her child instead of having an abortion. That already makes her a non disgrace. She took the lemons handed to her by the media and made lemonade out of it. She's 20 yrs old, not 40. I'm sure that all the decisions you made before 20 were brilliant?
...and no one in this whole world (outside our little burg) could care less because her name isn't Palin.
My point and I do have one.....Whatever Bristol Palin does or doesn't do will be news just because of her mother.
This young lady is carefully picking her way through life with an ex-(from the pit) boyfriend/father of child who delights in making life miserable for her and her family as long as it will bring him money, money, money.
This memoir/book she wrote, imo, is her attempt to clear the decks/set the record straight before Levi gets his own book, full of contempt and deceit, to the stores.
Bristol has had to learn a few hard lessons in life because of choices she's made at a very early age...
...but how can some of your hate/insult/ridicule her when she's trying to make amends by promoting abstinence....(yes, there is a 2nd chance at chastity program that helps young women abstain even after they've lost their chastity the first time.
She obvioulsy loves her child.....
..she's trying to be independent & financially solvent....and because of her name recognition, she gets opportunities most of us never will...
...she doesn't flaunt sex, or gaudiness or filthy language or liberal ideas....
.how in the world can some of you here be as nasty as you are toward this young woman?....
That might be unfair to Cindy. Meghan...not so much.
Don’t you think that you should wait to find out what the book says before you decide it’s effect on the 2012 race?
Ronald Reagans conservative son called his liberal half-brother an embarrassment Saturday for speculating in a new memoir that their father suffered from Alzheimers disease while president.
Ron, my brother was an embarrassment to his father when he was alive and today he became an embarrassment to his mother, Michael Reagan posted on Twitter.
My brother seems to want [to] sell out his father to sell books, he added in another tweet.
The sibling tension bubbles over just three weeks before Ronald Reagans 100th birthday, which will kick off a year of events to honor the 40th president.
In My Father at 100, Ron Reagan recalls early warning signs of his father losing his mental faculties. The question, he writes, of whether my father suffered from the beginning stages of Alzheimers while in office more or less answers itself.
Michael Reagan, adopted during President Reagans first marriage, comes out with his own book on Tuesday. Its a polemic called The New Reagan Revolution: How Ronald Reagans Principles Can Restore Americas Greatness. Newt Gingrich, a likely 2012 Republican candidate for president, wrote the foreword.
I knew that when I posted, Bristol only has a similarity to Michael Reagan, she has no comparison with the notorious Ron Reagan.
Because Ron Reagan Jr started out as innocently as Bristol and morphed into what he became.
Her being innocent now means that she will morph into Ron Reagan eventually? Are you high on something?
OTOH. There is a problem with People with PDS claiming "Sarah is a McCain stooge, his policies will be her policies}
This cuts the ground from under them without Sarah having to lift a finger.
If you want to debate this any fiurther then join a DEBATE TEAM.
Michael Reagan has had a long and varied televison career, including a season on Falcon Crest.
Bristol is working as a conservative, is involved in conservative causes, and is doing some work in TV, her mother worked in TV, Ronald Reagan worked in TV.
If you want to condemn a 20 year old conservative girl, then come up with some real reason, don’t just keep trying to smear her with nothing, and some ridiculous comparison with Ron Reagan.
I'm guessing Bristol is the Romney gal.
Why else would she undermine her mother's efforts?
Not any more than mccain's politics are to conservatives.
Aren’t you the little gal that doesn’t know anything about Bristol?
This isn’t high school, grow up.
subterfuge, you are correct, I just took a look at the bitter ladyjane’s posting history, she is an old Romneybot from way back.
And she is no fan of the Palins either.
Somewhere along the line I criticized the ridiculous Levi, but Meghan,no.
I’m an infrequent poster and avoid confrontation.
I believe what I believe, and you believe what you believe.
I learn more by reading posts on FR,than posting them.
C’est la vie!
