John McCain and Sarah Palin have long insisted things are all good between them, even after their losing 2008 presidential effort wound up with a nasty bout finger pointing between loyalists to the two former running mates. But the family members of both candidates are not being so publicly amicable.
As ABC News's Sheila Marikar reports, Bristol Palin trashes the McCain clan in her new upcoming memoir, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far."
It's unclear from Marikar's report whether the 20-year-old Palin daughter e specifically mentions her mother's running mate, her book does slam McCain's wife, Cindy, for acting like "royalty" and accuses the senator's 26-year-old daughter, Meghan, of being a snobby whiner.
Palin writes that she had a "sneaking suspicion I might need to watch my back" the first time she met Meghan McCain. She says the senator's daughter "ignored" the family during their first meet-and-greet and always seemed to be judging them.
"Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining," Bristol Palin writes. "Oh the complaining."
Cindy McCain, Palin writes, looked like a "queen" and conducted "herself like royalty." "I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," Palin writes.

I don’t think “rich” has anything to do with it.
There is a certain type of entitled person who would use food stamps to pay for Louis Vuitton luggage if they could. They rent instead of own and have "bills", but you see them driving $32,000 SUVs in strip malls all over America. The only difference between them and the McCains is a matter of degree.

Why the hell is a 20-year old with no real accomplishments writing her ‘memoirs’?? She sounds as dumb as Meghan.

The end game is Bristol is telling her story - and about Meghan, she’s confirming what we already knew about her - Meghan’s a rich spoiled kid with a big mouth who is impressed with herself.
Bristol’s new face? Come on...all she did was lose a few pounds.

The media had no problem writing/criticizing about a 19 yr old - how fully mature is that?
If her life - from the MSM’s point of view - was scrutinized so closely - she has every right to speak her piece as a 20 yr old. The MSM never did that to Meghan McCain - why? Her father ran for the presidency - twice.
Because this is America and she's trying to make some money. It may not seem like a lot to you and it probably isn't but I've seen people become rich with a lot less “accomplishments”.
Meghan McCain has been trashing the Palins for Two straight years, every chance she gets. Does anyone believe she would be invited on shows or sell any writing if she were not trashing Sarah and family? I’d say this little slap-back is long overdue and much milder than deserved.
Mrs WBill and I are stuck in the middle of the the middle class, I suppose.
I do well enough so that she can stay at home with the kids......the tradeoff being that I drive a 10-year-old car, we skip most vacations, rarely eat out, etc etc etc.
She has a blast with the kids, and they're doing great. Wouldn't trade that for any amount of $$$$.
And frankly, I'd rather eat her home cooking than restaurant food, any day. Had a big slab of homemade blueberry cake with my lunch. MMMMMMmmmmmm.
Whatever else one may criticize her for, the fact is she is a high school graduate...

What interesting times we live in. Two 20-something daughters of political celebrities write books and blogs, having themselves contributed nothing to our society. Both are sophomoric.
How this book is supposed to help Bristol’s mother if she intends to run for POTUS is beyond me. It does nothing but give more ammo to those who believe the Palins, especially Bristol, are cashing in on Sarah’s popularity, and that it is unseemly. It is unseemly.
If Bristol were my daughter, to the extent I could, I’d shut her down, make her go back to school and DO something before writing biographies. After all, one of Gov Palin’s best lines at the ‘08 GOP convention was about 40-something Obama’s writing two bios before accomplishing anything.

It seems like this is a big middle finger to people on her $hit list. She just doesn’t have the life experience to know how much longer that list is going to get.
Well, considering the fact that she’s already graduated would make that kind of difficult.
