I have been advocating an open season day (not necessarily with guns in the suburban/urban areas) on Canada geese for years. It is crazy to have all these giant packages of meat fouling our every walk way. They need culling.

A few Canada geese are charming and nice. A few hundred is a serious nuisance. You can’t use any field for anything; you can’t walk anywhere.

I’d make the homeless catch the things themselves. A little exercise would probably be good for them. Plus, they would have the satisfaction of earning their dinner.

Broiled Breast of Wild Goose

~ 2 - 8lb. geese
~ 3 tsp. grated onion
~ 4 tbsp. grated carrots
~ 2 bay leaves
~ 1/2 tsp. marjoram
~ 1 tsp. sage, crushed
~ 1 tsp salt
~ 1/2 tsp. pepper
~ 2 cups white wine
Carefully remove the breasts from the bone. Remove the skin.

In a large dish, combine the remaining ingredients. Marinate the breasts in the mixture for at least 8 hours. Turning occasionally. Remove the breasts and pat dry.

Place on broiling rack and broil each side for 11 minutes.

The recipients are not going to want wild goose. That is a far cry from chicken nuggets. Seriously, goose, particularly wild goose, does not appeal to most people used to bland, generic processed food.

In re: dogs, if they are euthanized in large numbers, and then what, incinerated? It seems to me a waste.

I know, we have cultural taboos against eating dog here. I don’t want to eat dog.

However I would if I were starving. So I wonder if dog could be used more humanely than incineration. People are dropping dead from lack of food every day on this planet while we incinerate dogs.

Just sayin’.

I find it interesting that NYC has to send the birds to PA to be butchered. I guess it is on more sign of the weakness of NYC to get things done because of regulations or the the Meat Packing district is dead.

It is crazy to have all these giant packages of meat fouling our every walk way.

It's not much worse then Toy Poodles crapping on a two foot strip of grass in front of a $$$high rise$$$ apartment building. Bad in the winter time, worse come spring. Cities are no place to keep animals of any sort.

Fire stairwells also become common sewers because Fi-Fi can't hold it for a thirty story ride in the elevator. Bah!
