WASHINGTON Representative Anthony D. Weiner has told friends that he plans to resign his seat after coming under growing pressure from his Democratic colleagues to leave the House in the wake of revelations of his lewd online exchanges with women, said a person told of Mr. Weiners plans.
The news comes as Democratic leaders prepared to hold a meeting on Thursday to discuss whether to strip the 46-year-old Congressman of his committee assignments, a blow which would severely damage his effectiveness.

A Weiner that will live in infamy.

This guy is obviously very sick and I’m starting, just starting I say ,to feel a little sorry for him. Imagine probably getting teased your whole life about your last name and possibly compensating by going in this sick direction. His whole life is collapsing now and he is a laughing stock. I sincerely hope he doesn’t do something even more stupid.

Weiner’s resignation is welcome news, but that’s not the problem in my view. The real problem is that Weiner has the OPTION to resign.
If any of us commoners had done something like Weiner did, using our employer’s facility for some of the stupidity, we’d have been fired. Congress needs to begin “firing” these losers.

I sure don’t feel sorry for him. He is a pervert. Glad he’s gone.

Huma married the power, not the man.
If Weiner goes, so does his power, and so will his pregnant wife.

Ahh come one Weiner, don't go flaccid on us now. Take some Viagra and stand tall. We haven't had this much fun since the Clinton/Lewinski days.

OK, we know all about Wiener, but what if, say, Iran knew about Wiener? What would he be willing to do for them in exchange for keeping quiet? Who else in Congress or other high positions do we NOT know about and might be cooperating with our enemies to keep it to themselves? It seems we have lost sight of the reason why these kinds of people and this kind of behaviour is not acceptable from any person in a position of power.
To: illiac
Of course, that means Huma will be gone and Hillary will have to find her another Democrat congressman.

It seems we have lost sight of the reason why these kinds of people and this kind of behaviour is not acceptable from any person in a position of power. One would think so, wouldn't one?
If we ever have a real strategic situation, this sort of nonsense won't be tolerated. For now, we're rich enough and comfortable enough to stay fat dumb and happy, literally. Hence, plenty of room for the Weiners of the world.
Make Room for Weiner!
