Weiner’s resignation is welcome news, but that’s not the problem in my view. The real problem is that Weiner has the OPTION to resign.

If any of us commoners had done something like Weiner did, using our employer’s facility for some of the stupidity, we’d have been fired. Congress needs to begin “firing” these losers.

The problem is each time these jokers get reelected their feeling of invincibility grows and they assume they are bullet proof. The easy solution is "term limits."

He represents his district and was elected by the voters there. They should fire him. Too bad if his continued presence embarrasses the Dem leadership. I think you want to set the bar fairly high for removing a seated Rep who was duly elected by his constituents.

I agree that this is cause for termination of employment. However, his employer isn’t the Congress. It’s the voters of his disctrict, and it’s up to them to fire him. Unfortunately, we have a poorly run government because the bosses don’t know how to run the business.

Absolutely. Regardless of Party if a member brings disgrace upon their position, family and body of Congress, they should be relieved of duty. There should be due process, to avoid political setups, but it should be swift.

Vitter, Rangel, Craig, and others should have been gone too. These elected officials must be held to the highest standard and it shouldn’t be left up to their constituents, PR and an election. There should be zero tolerance.
