This guy is obviously very sick and I’m starting, just starting I say ,to feel a little sorry for him. Imagine probably getting teased your whole life about your last name and possibly compensating by going in this sick direction. His whole life is collapsing now and he is a laughing stock. I sincerely hope he doesn’t do something even more stupid.

I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him. I only regret that he didn’t take several dozen of his colleagues and friends out with him. Weiner and all those who think like him are enemies of freedom.

When I was a little kid, my pediatrician's name was "Dr. Weiner." Very successful guy who died just a few years ago. I'm sure there are lots of successful people named 'Weiner' who were also teased. There are a lot of successful people whose names aren't Weiner who were teased or taunted about something else.
The problem is not Weiner's name, it's his personality, probably his upbringing, his worldview and his arrogance.
For his sake, I sincerely hope he gets his mind right, learns a little humility, and finds happiness in some healthy pursuit rather than in lording his power over others.
As for sympathy? IMHO, he's not getting anywhere near what he deserves, a conclusion based both on what would happen to any joe-blow citizen caught in the same situation as well as Weiner's own proposed legislation regarding online predators.
He could have started pronouncing it “Winer” and gotten that off his back, unlike a guy I met years ago who was named Al Shitsky......THAT poor sap was backed into a corner for life.

Very true. The guy was in the upper echelons of the Obama regime, and moving up. He wrote the health care bill. Having such power removed suddenly is very traumatic. His regeret must be huge.
That said, a great country cannot survive corrupt, perverted leaders. Hopefully more will fall.
