Early Thursday afternoon, Derek Willis posted on the papers "Caucus" blog a request surely enticing to the papers online liberal readership: "Help Us Investigate the Sarah Palin E-Mail Records." Ken Shepherd at NewsBusters says enlisting newspaper readers to pore through the email trove "indirectly amounts to free oppo research for the 2012 Obama campaign."
- On Friday, the State of Alaska will release more than 24,000 of Sarah Palins e-mails covering much of her tenure as governor of Alaska. Times reporters will be in Juneau, the state capital, to begin the process of reviewing the e-mails, which we will be posting on nytimes.com starting on Friday afternoon E.D.T.
- Were asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy e-mails, people and events that we may want to highlight. Interested users can fill out a simple form to describe the nature of the e-mail, and provide a name and e-mail address so well know who should get the credit. Join us here on Friday afternoon and into the weekend to participate.
Sounds like a liberal party at the Times this weekend. But where was this crowd-sourcing investigative enthusiasm upon the release of the 2,000-page Obama-care bill, when it could have uncovered all sorts of expensive hidden surprises?
The Times was actually beaten to this game by the Washington Post, who made a similar request (its a more formal process than the Times') just after noon on Thursday.

The commie anti-American print and electronic media, demrats, Texas and East Coast RINO globalists and FED money lenders are going nuts looking for a way to defame Governor Palin; forgetting what goes 'round comes 'round.
January 20, 2013 will be their day of judgment.

What if we take them up on it, and find them instances of Palin’s stellar conduct instead of the dirt they want?

Has anything ever been done like this before? Their fear is palpable. On the other hand, both newspapers are desperate for sales and revenue.

This plea looks like they are in trouble over at the Slimes. They don't have enough people around anymore to read a bunch of Emails so they enlist their dwindling readership. Does anyone think there is anything left to find out about Palin anymore? This is an act of attention grabbing desperation by the Slimes. Nice work your doing with the so called "Paper of Record" Pinch.

Strange. WaPo just pulled this stunt, then NYT announced this.
After Talking Points Memo, and basically what HoffPost/Koz horde were dreaming of doing ever since 2008.
It is almost as if there is a, dare I say it, coordinated effort....

Previous ping that sounds like the same story...isn't. This one's from the NY Times, the previous one was the Washington Post. No one in possession of even a small bit of sanity could look at these two stories and deny the liberal bias...and the fear of Palin.

I don’t know, i’d rather uncover proof of Weener sexting underage girls from his gov’t ofc. He’s actually IN office, while Palin is [thus far] a private person.

The Times was able to dig up dirt on Sarah in Alaska before - during the same time they were unable to find Chicago and Hyde Park on a map...
They have a track record...
Maybe the new managing editor could call Larry Flynt - he offered a million for dirt on unfaithful 'public servants' and later had to explain (after MUCH response) that he ONLY wanted dirt on Republicans. Too bad the Times can't be as honest and straight forward as Larry Flynt...

I posted on the
Washington Post thread that announced that newspapers plea for readers to volunteer to comb through the Palin e-mails (when she was Alaska's governor) looking for something, anything, to smear her with. I called it despicable. It is no less despicable when the
New York Times does the same thing. Yet, these fishwraps will proclaim that
'polls show that Sarah Palin is disliked by a majority of Republicans and the rest of America hates her guts' - or something close to it. They tell us Palin is 'unelectable', a dunce, a joke and on and on. This desperate attempt to recruit people to voluntarily read thousands of (probably boring) e-mails sent to and/or by Sarah Palin in her position as a state governor is as pathetic as it is telling.
The left not only loathes Palin but they obviously fear her. To not recognize that at this late date is to be willfully blind to reality. No other potential or announced candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination has received anywhere near the same kind of attention, albeit, negative. Only president George W. Bush, whom the leftmedia hated with a passion, received anywhere near the same level of scrutiny and criticism. Sarah Palin confounds the left and I hope and pray she continues to do so. I also hope that she decides to run for the GOP nomination. It will be a thing of wonder to watch the left's heads explode and for Palin to surge past the pretenders and raise gargantuan amounts of money, quickly, putting the lie to the months of BS from the leftmedia about Palin being a virtual non-entity and only good as a butt of (unfunny) jokes and smears. Sweet revenge. I can't wait.
