Sarah Palin readies bus tour amid 2012 speculation
Washington Post ^ | 5/26/11 | Dan Balz

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin (R), who has been largely out of the public eye through much of the spring, will reemerge Sunday as she begins a national bus tour that will put her back in the spotlight and no doubt renew speculation about a possible presidential bid.

The tour, the first of what will be a series of such journeys over a period of weeks, will start on Sunday in Washington at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally and work its way north along the East Coast. She will visit other parts of the country later, stopping at symbolically important sites in the nation’s history.

"Cain became a member of the board of directors to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1992 and served as its chairman from January 1995 to August 1996..."

You see this as a big plus, huh? Cool. Cain seems like a great guy, but he's never been elected to anything, and the Presidency of the United States just isn't where one cuts their baby teeth in their first ever elected gig. That this common sense might elude you isn't surprising, given that you are uninformed enough to say this:

"...the fact [sic!] is that Palin owes her entire political noteriety to her gender..."

I don't doubt that you truly believe that. Most people who don't back Palin yet are blissfully ignorant of her astounding accomplishments in elected office as a fierce and uniquely successful advocate for her constitutents.

I wish Cain all the best. If he breaks 5-10% in primary voting, it would be nice for his ego. We'll see, though.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and may God bless America!

Last night on Greta, Rush Limbaugh said that Palin was the person Obama most does NOT want to run against, because Palin can beat him.

Now, I know that you are far more knowledgable about politics than Rush Limbaugh...

....

...BWAAAHHHHAAAHHHAAHHAAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahaahahahaha!

ROFLMAO!!! Have another drink, Hildy... you're on a roll!!! Holy crop, you're a riot.

I agree with you on Palin/West.

That said, as SMART! as Sarah is proving to be, I bet that in her mind, and her mind only, and probably not even shared with Todd, she has her own mind already made up on “her” running mate subject to extensive background investigation by pros.

West, to me, and so far, is just a stud with a flawless resume and history! I think Sarah could count on the good Colonel “having her back” in DC backroom political wars as the man has demonstrated loyalty (to his troops) beyond any question!

And, the real plus is that he could draw off some of the black vote.

In the end, it’s all about the ideology. Obama has no executive experience, and has done a wonderful job remaking the nation in his own image.

We need a president who puts America first, and is not going to offer illegals a path to citizenship.

I am hoping so. If she does not run and the GOP does not nominate Paul or Johnson I will just go back to Libertarian and write off the last few years. You will start to notice GOP people calling Taxes “Revenue”. I hope this wakes up some people. They signed the NO TAX pledge but not a No New Revenue Pledge.

"I just will not support Palin in the primary if she runs, and I don’t think she is going to run."
.......but there is no one else on the GOP declared right now. Hopefully Sarah will run, or Gov Perry.

I am upbeat and cheery..I am not the one beating up people for opposing viewpoints. I’m just conveying my opinion.

"Love is blind."

A somewhat more comprehensive and correct quote is "Love blinds us to faults, and hatred to virtues."

I love Sarah, but I am torn on her running. Part of me wants her to run and part of me hopes she doesn’t run this time around. I don’t think the time is right. Too many independent voters have a negative impression of her and she needs to rehabilitate her image to them....Plus I think she is too valuable a player in the primaries to help us elect conservative nominees for the Senate and House. She was tremendous in 2010 in that aspect and we need her to do it again in 2012.

I think 2020 could be the perfect year for her if all plays out well in 2012. If we can elect a conservative President who makes a huge difference and proves to Americans conservatism really works, 2020 could be perfect for her. She’ll still be relatively young (age 56) and her conservative ideals and values will play perfectly to the people. Plus it will be better for her family. All her children except Trig will be adults then and won’t have to deal with the childhood pressures of having a candidate, or President mother.

I really don’t think is going run this time. I think she is just having some at the MSM’s expense. Driving the crazy with hints of a prospective run. In the end I think she stays out. But still, should she run in 2012, she has my support to the end.

Oh yes. Love and respect Michele.

.......but Sarah is above and beyond and needs to be in.

.......besides, it will be wonderful to see all the libs shrivel at Sarah's feet. The only thing wrong with America right now is that libs have somehow moved into a position that voted-in the last President......but obviously they have been shown how truly confused they really are. Any bright bulbs will vote for Sarah. Guaranteed.
