Brit Humes just ripped Newt for his attacks on Paul Ryan plan
Monday May 16,2011

Posted on 05/16/2011 8:27:47 AM PDT by Bigtigermike

Brit Hume trashed Newt on Fox and called him nothing less than a Bomb thrower.  That's an understatement. Brit said that Newt attacked Paul Ryan and handed a talking point to the Democrats......"vote for a Republican and Medicare will be gone."  All that on day 5 of his campaign. Brit pretty much said that Newt is going to implode even faster than he did as Speaker of the House. He complimented Ryan for his detailed plan and ridicules Newt for not offering anything but a lot of noise.

I caught a glimps of that as I was getting ready to go out the door.

Brit Humes looked and sounded angry and disgusted.

But he has given the left the sound bite they wanted, the “voodoo economics” comment that they will use in every debate and on every bumper sticker.

Newt & Nancy
Newt & Hillary

Why does Newt always end up wanting to play for the other team?

Newt is a very, very bright guy who is all about ego and winning. The fact that he had some brilliant ideas and strategies that assisted the conservative cause in 1994 doesn't mean that he has, at heart, any interests other than his own.
The man is extremely intelligent, well read and an original thinker; in the proper cabinet or advisory spot he could still be invaluable to the cause of liberty, however, to quote Charlie Sheen “It's WINNING DOH!”, and Newt would rather win (prove to the world how smart Newt is) if it meant waking up next to Ms Pelosi, than lose.

Anything else he says is doa after this.

I wanted to really like Newt, the Newt of yesteryear who was a wake up call for how-to-make-a-victory way back then, and certainly wanted to hear what he had to say, and now this! I am furious at the new milquetoast, chamelion liberal Newt. Who has he morphed into? Nobody I recognize.

A jam in the wheel is what he is, insulting the Ryan plan, while pointing his number 11 lips nowhere near the target, OBAMA, but at Ryan. Cold day in @#$$ before this remark passes for works-for-me.

It’s one thing to criticize a point in Ryan’s plan; it is quite another to lie about the plan like the Democrats do and like Newt decided to do by following their lead. Not good.

His campaign is over before it has gotten off the ground.

I know --- it is amazing. Announce presidential run on Wednesday; completely torpedo your campaign on the following Sunday morning. Is this a record?

So did Megyn Kelly for a while, and that might be a Callista type problem for Brit.

Newt should remind us a lot of McClown — both are all ego and not much more.

He no longer has to worry about the social conservatives since he just kissed off the fiscal ones. The Newtron bomb went off, but Newt forgot to clear the area. Maybe Laura Bush will give him a call and tell him to hang in. Always room for another big government Republican.

So what. To the extent that Ryan now has even more distance from himself and the mainstream Repub party so much the better. Every voter out there except big gov repubs are looking at Ryan wondering why Newt hates him and that's a good thing.

How did I miss Coburn’s book? I have irritated a number of FReepers by looking forward to a Newt candidacy, but not anymore! His genius is lost in space if he thinks he can attract anyone but the Left with stupid remarks against Ryan when Newt couldn’t pull a plan out of a sock and stick to it. I am so mad at him.
