(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.

The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

IMO By doing so he's agreeing that his hand was forced by Trump...Trumps speech prior also gives pause....hummmm..are these two playing off each other to entertain us from the really important issues? Is it indeed a distraction being played by both by the Demorats? I still am not convinced Trump is for us....though he's talking the talk. Has it been since 2001? I was under the impression that the option of getting the long form BC (Certificate rather than Certification) was removed very recently, like in the past month or so. I could be wrong because I never looked at the form to request a Hawaii BC.

Well, Obama’s was announced ahead of time, and Trump was seemingly responsible for Obama going to these lengths today. It would make sense Trump would want to get credit for this.

HI blocks 3 and 4 are identical to MS blocks 5a and 5b.

The Mississippi form does have some more information, such as previous pregnancies by the mother, length of pregnancy, birth weight, and if the mother is married. The Mississippi document does not have a place for occupation of mother, nor birth hour.

When a child is adopted, birth certificates are changed to place the adoptive parents on the BC. We adopted our grandson, and I am now listed as his birth mother, my husband is his father, same date, same hospital same everything else. The old BC is now destroyed. Any future BCs will be listing me, I don’t care how hard you jump up and down.
