5 guys just moved into town which is better In-N-Out Burgers or Five Guys?
From what I hear 5 Guys is better but for fries, shakes, burger taste and prices. What say you all.
My wife really likes the sweet Potato fries at Smashburgers

The location in Lake Forest is too hard to get to. Do you go to the Hat also?
Sorry but you are at fault here. The title of the thread appeared to be interesting to anyone who likes hamburgers. I never heard of those places either and now, thanks to FR, will eat at both if I ever get a chance. Others chimed in with their favorites so now those who read them might need a little info about other burgers even.
While his initial comment was not exactly wildly scintillating it did not deserve the hostility which you showered upon it.
OMG it is still. There are more great places than you could ever eat at. Then throw in all the great Italian beef, the pizza, the Mexican joints great food from the whole world. No wonder I am helpless in its grasp.
Re #224:
Frankly your judgment of my “fault” means nothing to me. I am underwhelmed and you are boring.
I’ve been to 5 guys...as you said, it’s very over rated. I had heard their fries are the best, but I didn’t like them.
Growing up, it was Brookshire’s in Meridian. Still the best burger I’ve ever put in my mouth! Then, Lonnie and Pat’s (RIP because of the recession and they couldn’t find good people to work for them) and now New’s burgers. So, if you’re ever in Meridian, go to New’s.
Out here, I am so thankful that we are now seeing Sonics! I love those burgers...much better than 5 guys. Plus, they have sweet tea...a never found beverage out here.
Don’t you hate seeing those pictures thinking that’s what you’re going to get? lol
I’m glad to know there’s somewhere that lived up to their advertising.
The best local burger I’ve had out here is from an old bar out in the country. And, Lordy...it was good!
Cook Out has the best hot dogs and shakes for a reasonable price. I am not crazy about their burgers, too dry for me, but my husbands likes them.
I seldom eat french fries so can’t say much about them. They have good onion rings though.
I pass them all the time but have never tried one. Same with Snoopy’s Hot Dogs in Raleigh and the Dawg House in Durham. Will have to try Char-Grill. Have you eaten at either of the hot dog places? Do they serve those icky cheap red hot dogs?
Best hot dogs and shakes anywhere!
That’s the way I feel about Chick-fil-A.
Clean, friendly, good service.
I like the Frisco Melt at Steak and Shake.
I have eaten at the Snoopy’s in Roxboro when they first built it a number of years ago. I wasn’t impressed. Back then, there was a place in town run by a little Armenian man. It was the best.
And I grew up on John Pulliam’s hot dogs. Anything else is a disappointment.
Thanks!
It's a variety of Tourette Syndrome - Narcis-Ignoramus Syndrome.
Have not been to XXX for years, but have been to FatBurger - not impressed, never returned. Same with In-n-Out - thought the burgers were greasy, and, if I remember correctly, they only had American cheese. Yuk. At Red Robin and Kidd Valley you can get something besides American on the burger. And, as I mentioned, you can get a shake with real fruit in it.
All American in Massapequa beats them all.
