In-N-Out Burgers vs. Five Guys
Me | 4/8/11 | Oh, the huge vanity

Posted on 04/08/2011 9:32:29 PM PDT by Mike Darancette

5 guys just moved into town which is better In-N-Out Burgers or Five Guys?

From what I hear 5 Guys is better but for fries, shakes, burger taste and prices. What say you all.

Here in east TN/southwest VA, we have Pal's. They have a pretty good burger, fries are ok, but their dog's are awful.

Couldn’t they come up with a better name than Five guys though?

Alamo Springs Cafe is in Fredericksburg, about 90 minutes north of SA. IN San Antonio, we now have Five Guys, which is OK. I like the mom and pop places like Bobby J’s and Chris Madrid’s for awesomeness. We also have Babe’s and Smashburger. Was hoping In n’ Out would make it down here, but not yet. Supposed to be up around Big D.

I’ve only had each (5 Guys and In & Out hamburgers) once and I liked them both. They are both great hamburgers.

I had a CFS in Texas, I don’t know if it was as big as a saddle bag but it was sticking about 3-4” off the sides of a large plate.

Can’t remember the name, it was years ago, but some little town not to far from the suburbs of a major city. The CFS house was one of the busiest places in town.

Heard it was the best CFS in the world and wanted to try it out.

Flaky as hell, melt in you month, perfect color and texture. The gravy had me begging for more. It was just a unbelievable taste, not like any CFS that I have had anytime before and anytime since.

It was something that was so good, it made you want to eat it for every meal and move into town just so you could get it.

I think they pay their kids $10/hr and will bend over backwards to help them further their educations.

That is the original In-N-OUT. I used to live a couple of miles from the place back in the early 70’s.

5 guys 6 miles from us here in Florida burgers are real good and when ordering fries the small order is enough for 2 people believe me.

I love their huge portions of French fries. The hamburgers are nothing special. If you want your fries more crispy they will do it unless they are too busy. I also like their free salted peanuts in the shell.

Five Guys lists the name of the farm their potatoes came from - in each restaurant - each day. They HAVE the best fries - and are proud of it. Also the best burgers - everything's made fresh and tastes like it...

indeed..best burgers are usually groceries or a bar in Dixie

like Rotiers or Browns in Nashville or Pucketts or Mickey Roo's in Franklin

in Jackson as a kid...the Redwood Inn on south Terry Road by Battlefield Park and a grocery ...

... the king of Jackson Miss burgers and believe it or not a James Beard acclaimed burger is this one...been there since the 20s

In ‘N Out doesn't compare with 5 guys in any way. In ‘n Out is extremely overrated by those not used to good burgers.
