I don’t like this. I think our forces are spread too thin.

I don't like this either. We have no business intervening in a civil war.

Oh, I know that.

But I still which we had another CIC. I just saw Obama on FOX talk about “the international community” this and “the international community that.” I never heard him mention the US once.

Not true.

They are there but not mowing down anybody. They are a member of the GCC and have been asked for assistance by another GCC member.

Not a mistake.

The rebellions all over the muslim world are Obama’s work, and he doesn’t like anyone to stand in the way. If he dared, he would try and stop any crackdown in Bahrain too, but that wouldn’t sit well with the Sauds so he’s holding off. For now.

But having the US entangled in Libya is, for him, a dream situation. He wants dead US soldiers and attacks against the US, and Moammar is old-school arab statesman, meaning genocidal nutjob with a large WMD program. Hammer, meet nail.

Forget about the Sunni-Shiite conflict, it is there but not really. Sunni AQ has always used Iran as safe area, they get help from the mullahs, and weaponry. And there’s no real schism between shia hezbollah and sunni hamas. Red herrings all the way.

There’s really three factions on the muslim plain: Hashemites, Sunni wahab and Shia 12th-imam nutjobs. In the final analysis, Obama will *always* end up supporting the faction most rabidly likely to nuke Israel. That is his function and goal.

The arriving group includes the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, based in Virginia, and other ships.

The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group is made up of the Norfolk-based amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19); and the dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) homeported at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story, Va. Supporting the BAT ARG are Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 6; the 22nd MEU; Tactical Air Control Squadron 22; Fleet Surgical Team 8; and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28.

They are a member of the GCC and have been asked for assistance by another GCC member.

What does that have to with the fact that our tax dollars are being used to prop up these medieval regimes even as they mow down these crowds? All of these rationalizatiosn can't mask the stench of hypocrisy.

There is no stench of hypocrisy. The Gulf States are our allies. The anti Arab bias does not extend across the whole population.

Since when are Saudi forces funded by the U.S.? You mean Saudi Arabia doesn’t have any money?

Excellent point on those Wahhabist OPEC Saudi butchers.

The vast majority of mosques throughout the West are Saudi funded, but these Wahhabists are our 'allies' --- so there is nothing to worry about, plus Obama loves them so much he groveled prior to getting his Saudi solid gold chain.
