Oopsie! It says "Libya offers ceasfire after UN vote. It was then refused, because they weren't giving up anything. This stinks! They'll hate us any way this comes out.

According to the link that is now up...

The USS Bataan Amphibious Ready Group will deploy on March 23 “ahead of its original schedule in order to relieve units from the USS Kearsarge (Amphibious Ready Group) currently positioned in the Mediterranean Sea,” it said in a statement.

The arriving group includes the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, based in Virginia, and other ships.

“Folks it sounds to me like we are in another war. This with an incompetent and disengaged President. Pray for our country.”

Got to get all this president stuff done before 0’s off to his Rio vacation.

Great. My son expects to graduate from Parris Island as a Marine on 4/22.

I wonder if Obama has an exit plan.

Anything coming at our ships will be eviscerated by Phalanx defense systems. Iran would do better to toss a glue-bomb onto the hull, if they can get close enough.

Change UNIT’s directive from alien defense and intelligence to actual ridding the world of despots and tyrants with this crowd:

US Amphibious Ships Deploy: Libya Action

Why Libya, not Egypt, not Tunisia etc,
does it have some kind of strategic value or is it just payback for the old sins of Gadhaffi
but found this:
...Libya has the largest proven oil reserves in Africa with 42 billion barrels of oil and over 1.3 trillion cubic metres of gas. With only 25% of Libya’s surface territory explored to date there is every chance that actual reserves could see this figure dwarfed in coming years.

As Europe’s single largest oil supplier, the second largest oil producer in Africa and the continent’s fourth largest gas supplier, Libya dominates the petroleum sector in the Southern Mediterranean area and has ambitious plans for the future...

Could it be the European connection?

looks like bambi and hillary rodham carpetbagger will have “their” war

Guess they think this will be 1986 Reagan redux, just jam some radars and send in some missiles and dictate the peace terms for a ceasefire as Qadaff flies off to Switzerland and ululating Libyan democrats welcome the US..err, UN... with flowers

God Bless America, I have a real bad feeling about this, given the narcissistic incompetents running the show - and I’m not talking about Qadaffi

>I have a real bad feeling about this

You’re not the only one.

We didn’t stand with Mubarak but we are standing with an amorphous group of Islamists, secularists, tribes and a renegade general or two in a conflict where the USA has NO vital or strategic interests.

Meanwhile, the real show is in Bahrain and the rest of the Gulf kingdoms.

Some might say this is the perfect time for Obama to obfuscate. Others might say this action is a red herring.

Mmmmm Obfuscated Red Herring, the perfect Friday meal during lent.

This with an incompetent and disengaged President.

and a stupid vain arrogant old woman (Secretary of State) who used to think the military was only useful for serving drinks at WH mixers, and carrying her lugggage

Someone set the re-set button, please! Oh wait, that translated to "overcharge"
