Mitt Romneys supporters on Capitol Hill are giving him political cover for the healthcare plan he signed into law as governor, even as his competitors for the GOP presidential nomination ramp up their attacks on RomneyCare.
Romneys healthcare reform initiative in Massachusetts is viewed as one of his biggest political liabilities going into the Republican primary, due to its similarities to President Obamas healthcare overhaul.
But leading conservatives, including supporters of Romney during his 2008 presidential run, argue that the Massachusetts plan isnt a deal-breaker.
One of the reasons I endorsed Romney [in 2008] is his attempts to make private health insurance available at affordable prices, said Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.), a GOP kingmaker.

He had become freaking crazy, posting anti-Palin screeds from every lib source possible, saying every outrageous thing he could to get attention.
Yes, I think that it was about a year ago that he seemed to become overwhelmed with his anti-Palin feelings. He seemed to change then, and I was concerned. During the last few weeks it seemed that he was very unhappy. His last post? What a sad conclusion to his time here.
-——watch out for B-——
Do you deny the need for change in the present system?
Tort reform, insurance sales nationally across state lines?
There is going to be a plan B. The only question is what

And extra-crispy.
“He was not well liked, and most here had seen through his exaggerations, deceit, and general hypocrisy.”
The guy turned into a complete asshat. There was no fine line of zealous defense of his opinion. He became an obsessed fool, attacking a good conservative with lies and distortions.
Honestly, he should have been zotted long ago, but his history here gave him a long leash. Now he’s been put out of his own misery...sad to watch lunacy take over a person.
Was he implying Palin with that disgusting remark??
LS..the first and only time I was on DU in 2008, there was a poster over there named pissant. I remember that because it sounded so disgusting (which seemed normal for that place). Anyway, I found FR that same day and after a few days here, I saw pissant here. Same?
Oooo yeah, that comment was a bit over the top. Pissant’s that is.
They bounce, do they? lol
I'm sure we'll see several cats on this thread between your post and this one.
As for the 10¢ offer, methinks it is now half that or less for Mr. DeMint. By the time this makes it around conservative-ville he'll be "minting" new paper 1¢ chits for his funder event tickets.
PISSANT RODE THE LIGHTNING!!!
I'm never happy to see anyone get tossed out of our playpen here. Anyone who appreciates the genius of Bachmann can't be all bad.
Obama/Romney/care is so critically important as a fundamental (and bellweather) issue that DeMint needs to wake up and smell the coffee.
Coffee, by the way, goes well with toast and it just popped up in Mr. DeMint's toaster.
