Mitt’s backers: ‘RomneyCare’ overblown [DeMint defends Romney & his socialized medicine scheme]

Mitt Romney’s supporters on Capitol Hill are giving him political cover for the healthcare plan he signed into law as governor, even as his competitors for the GOP presidential nomination ramp up their attacks on “RomneyCare.”

Romney’s healthcare reform initiative in Massachusetts is viewed as one of his biggest political liabilities going into the Republican primary, due to its similarities to President Obama’s healthcare overhaul.

But leading conservatives, including supporters of Romney during his 2008 presidential run, argue that the Massachusetts plan isn’t a deal-breaker.

“One of the reasons I endorsed Romney [in 2008] is his attempts to make private health insurance available at affordable prices,” said Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.), a GOP kingmaker.

I hope pissant was given a timeout only for the vulgarity, and not his general dissenting views regarding Palin. I say that with the understanding that I fully support Palin, and believe she’s wonderful person.

He was not well liked, and most here had seen through his exaggerations, deceit, and general hypocrisy.

I liked him. We often disagreed, but liked him. I was distressed by his attitude toward Sarah, I admit. His last post was particularly upsetting, and as I mentioned previously, unacceptable.

Apparently unable to deal at all with the substance of his hero DeMint signing on, not only to Romney, but to Romneycare - was gallingly evident.

No argument about how DeMint’s “unforced error” in endorsing Mitt and his signature socialist policy should be viewed more favorably than Palin’s endorsement of her former running mate.
