Are you a white, middle class, gun-owning, church-going conservative? Then NPR hates you. This stark but unsurprising revelation came in an undercover investigative video by conservative activist James OKeefe targeting NPR senior executive Ron Schiller. Mr. Schiller thought he was chatting up Muslim activists promising a $5 million donation to the embattled publicly funded network, and he sought to appeal to them by disparaging people who disagree with his liberal worldview. The current Republican Party, particularly the Tea Party, is fanatically involved with peoples personal lives, he said. They are very fundamentalist Christian I wouldnt even call it Christian

... but we don’t make them pay us.
And I hate NPR.
The feeling is mutual.
1) I didn’t do it — how dare you accuse me of this! I’m not biased!!
2) Maybe I did say that stuff — but you have no evidence!
3) OK, you have some evidence — but nothing convincing!
4) OK, this happened — but it’s nobody’s business but my own!
5) OK, Taxpayers are forced to fund my war against traditional American values — but everybody agrees with me! Why make a big deal out of this?
6) OK, most Americans actually like American values and disagree with my radical left wing agenda — but that’s old news! Can’t we just move on?
7) Hey, go ahead — focus on it all you want! The president backs me! We own the Senate! You can’t touch me! HAHAHAHA!
So I’m forced to subsidize an entity that hates me? At least I can vote out politicians. The minority rules again.
Don't confuse contempt for hate.
Only the precious Second Amendment keeps us from becoming the Tutsis.
The feeling is mutual. The difference is that I can get along just fine without them but the need my tax dollars to stay afloat financially. Sucks to be them.
NPR hates everything about white, middle class, gun-owning, church-going conservatives EXCEPT their money.
They hate a lot more than the tea party.
According to this guy Shiller’s comments only about 10% of Americans are ‘elite’ and educated enough to consider intelligent.
Well then. I "cotempt" them right back ...
What if Fox news was taxpayer subsidized and Roger Ailes said “liberals are all anti Christian bigots, who want to take away our rights and freedoms”? He’d be gone in a New York minute and Fox would be defunded pronto by the leftists. And not the 2% federally. Leftists would shut the whole Fox operation down.
NO MORE OF MY TAX MONEY FOR HATE!
Excepting the shows that involved begging for listener money, there were inevitable left wing messages and political instruction in every program. The Alinsky weapon of RIDICULE was especially prominent during the Presidency of Dubya, during which they would mock and deride our President at all opportunities (some seemed ad lib and other attacks were clearly written.)
Aside from the fact that these fungi (talented, but definitely fungus) do not appreciate the First Amendment rights that let them perform anti-American activism "art", what really bugs me is that a portion of MY tax money goes to support leftist activism that I find so repellent.
I am very glad that this has blown up. It’s been needing to, for a very, very long time. I’ve been grinding my teeth while watching PBS for years, now, and have really wanted to see them taken to task in the national spotlight for their unabashed liberal bias.
This is a good thing.
If the shoe was on the other foot, and NPR was a big supporter of the Republican agenda, they would be moving to defund it as well.
Which is exactly why government should not be in the business of financing ANY kind of media.
