In Wisconsin, SEIU president Mary Kay Henry, Andy Stern’s successor, will drop in for a mob pep talk and Democrat canvassing.

Over the past week, I’ve been sharing e-mails from public school teachers — compulsory union members — who are disgusted by their Big Labor bosses’ power-preservation attempts.

Another educator in Pennsylvania shared the note the teachers’ union there sent out to members orchestrating “solidarity” events:

Members, Please wear red Tuesday to show solidarity with Wisconsin teachers!

Speak up for workers’ rights

Show your support:

Wear red on Tuesday, Feb. 22

Sign the online petition supporting workers’ rights.

Print “We Are One” stickers to share with your colleagues. (Avery Labels #5164)

Join Wisconsin employees’ solidarity vigil on Facebook.

ACTION NEEDED – The right to bargain is under attack

Dear PSEA Member,

On Tuesday, February 22, make a small but important gesture to help your colleagues across the nation. PLEASE WEAR SOMETHING RED TO WORK. As I write this e-mail, education employees and other public employees in Wisconsin and Ohio are being threatened with losing their right to collectively bargain. Many years of hard fought gains may be wiped out with a single vote in their legislatures.

Wisconsin: Governor Scott Walker is proposing to wipe away decades of collective bargaining for teachers, support staff, and other public workers in Wisconsin. The right to organize, the right to bargain health insurance or prep time, the right to have a voice in the profession – all of those things and more are under attack in Walker’s budget bill. Ohio: Sen. Shannon Jones revealed the language of Senate Bill 5, a bill that will have a significant impact on public employees. SB5 eliminates collective bargaining for state employees, police officers, fire fighters and employees of higher education institutions, and significantly undermines collective bargaining for K-12 employees.

What would happen if you didn’t have a union to bargain your salary and benefits?

* What would your salary be? * How much would you be paying for health insurance? * Would you have a pension?

PSEA members are beginning to ask how they can show their support for their colleagues in Wisconsin and Ohio and to demonstrate their support for unions having the right to collectively bargain.

Here are two things you can do to show your support for the right to collectively bargain:

1. Show your support by wearing red on Tuesday Feb. 22. Take pictures at your work site and send them to PSEA Communications or share them on PSEA’s Facebook page. Call your colleagues to make sure they know about wearing red on Tuesday. Our theme is, “We Are One.”

2. Sign the online petition: http://www.educationvotes.nea.org/nationalpetition

In Solidarity, Jim Testerman PSEA President

Lots of State Crapitols on that list...makes it easy for SEIU thugs to attend; since so many of them are employed right on site. Nobody will notice that they have left their desks, anyway...on the bright side; these rallies will lighten the load on eBay servers for a bit...

The most glaring, noticable thing at today’s union thug rally in Hartford: NOT ONE AMERICAN FLAG

Hubby said it would be “interesting” for our people to show up at these “emergency rallies” all over the US this Saturday, and simply stand off to the side - away from these union thugs - holding thousands of AMERICAN FLAGS. The contrast would be glaring!

**********************************************

Excellent idea! Every Tea Party I’ve attended had many American flags.

--The union membership rate for public sector workers is 36.2% --- for private sector workers it is 6.9 percent. They could be making a big mistake by educating the rest of America about the gravy train they have created over the years.

it was a gorgeous spring afternoon. SUNNY
Monaco lost by 92 votes. I am learning to ignore all the idiocy that I run into in CT GOP circles.

Met some fabulous conservative political folks.

Thanks for the kind encouragement.

Every Tea Party I’ve attended had many American flags.

Same here, Julie! It's the first item we always packed into our cars before heading to a Tea Party rally.

The Left - whether it's union or anti-war rallies, political rallies for democRAT candiates... you name it - RARELY do they remember to bring American flags with them. And - man - do they get "grumpy" when you call 'em out on that! ;-)

A Republican getting 48% in East Haven is nothing short of outstanding. Congratulations on an excellent job of getting out the vote.

unfortunately it was not outstanding.

She got 45% in NOV vs a 20 year incumbent.
this was a low turnout special ... which favors GOP ... vs. a nobody 26-year old dimwit, who has never been in politics before.

We did not get our vote out, which was why we lost. (Hartford HOUSE Republicans were running the campaign.) I prefer campaigns that are run by local folks.

My wife got SEIU’d... She is a home health provider.

She was promised health insurance and a whole bunch of other really good stuff.

She ended up with a union deduction from her pay... and nothing else.
