Mubarak has stepped down, per a short statement from Vice President Suleiman. Crowds going wild in the streets.
How long until Obama takes credit for this???
Well what do you think the mob will do now? They have no jobs and no money and no food. What can they do? This is mob rule. They will turn on the next thing. Obama has put us in a Lose Lose situation. We have to lose Obama ASAP.
There is a difference between freedom and anarchy.
(news reports from the Iranian Revolution)
“The final collapse of the provisional non-Islamist government came at 2 p.m. February 11 when the Supreme Military Council declared itself “neutral in the current political disputes in order to prevent further disorder and bloodshed.” Revolutionaries took over government buildings, TV and Radio stations, and palaces of Pahlavi dynasty.”
“The tyranny of Islam will now descend upon them.”
I loved the story that came out recently when Christians surrounded a large group of praying Muslims, making a chain of protection for them from government thugs. Muslims did the same for Christians last Christmas. These Egyptians have every right to freedom and prosperity that you do. Give them the respect of at least trying...they have done more than we have here. God Bless them and help them be free!
Yep now all Zero has to do is have hostages captured at the US embassy and give land away(panama canal). It will be Jimmy Carter all over again.
Oh yes. Fox had a clip of people running around in pink shirts a few days ago. The leftists have been there working on this for a couple of years now. They want socialism/communism. The Muslim Brotherhood wants Islamic socialism. That's why they're working together - socialism.
After the socialist revolution, the U.S. left will want to take over. So will the Muslim Brotherhood, but they both can't rule together. The only thing they have in common is socialism, but one is Sharia and the other unfettered liberalism. The Muslims will win, and the left will be responsible for the horrors that result from that. Marxists lack foresight. They're unable to see the bigger picture. That's why everything they do ends in disaster.
Good luck in the Gulags.
What is your opinion then on Lebanon being taken over by Hamas after only 10% of them were elected by the people? Do you see them as being liberated? What of Iran in ‘79? Are they liberated people? Is the world better off?
You are blind.
“your asking us to treat communists, code pink, socialists, and radical muslims and this white house with respect
ARE YOU FRIGGIN SERIOUS?”
I am asking you to appreciate these peoples desire to be free! You are the one supporting tyranny, think about it. There is no guarantee of what will end up, but at this point these people have overthrown tyranny, not to be ruled over but to be free...that is a cause of celebration!
Who knows?
That is the way I’m looking at it too. I have read in several places that the military hates the muslim brotherhood just as much as mubarak does, and that the military is friendly (more or less) to the U.S.. I will hope for the best.
Excuse me, but I have a Master's Degree so don't question my education.
I also worked for a United States Congresswoman both in Congress and also I ran her successful re-election campaign. So I know a bit about politics. I only left working for Congress so I could open up my own store after receiving my Master's Degree.
I have been following this in great detail. The Muslim Brotherhood states they want to destroy Israel, destroy the US and then have a worldwide MUSLIM caliphate. That is on the record!
You neo-cons are the idealists who think that everyone can function under a democracy. The Palestinians got democracy and elected Hamas, the Iranians got democracy and voted for Islamists.
Yes, he was a dictator but he also prevented the radicals in his country from attacking Israel.
The neo-con belief is everyone deserves democracy, some people simply aren't ready for it. When 90% of Egyptian woman have had a violent procedure on their genitals you think people like that are going to function under a democracy?
I would like to see your reply and I would like to have you stand on the record and tell me that the Muslim Brotherhood is good for Egypt.
And I'm pinging one of Free Republic's most attuned political geniuses. He can help educate you.
Obama and the left...and many on the Right (as you see on FR), believe that Israel is the source of ME problems, that the State of Israel should never have been formed...and they want Israel...gone.
The danger is that the Muslim Brotherhood will promise bread for the people, “we will be a river to the peoples”
If they are allowed to win a popular election we know what we will get.
The people will still be hungry and the MB will foment jihad by blaming the shortages on the west.
As Michael Scheuer [former head of the Bin Laden unit and ME expert] said on Fox this AM, it’s counter-intuitive to think that the Egyptian people, in this time of tumult, are going to reach for a totally foreign concept such as secular democracy, something they’ve NEVER known, instead of something that has sustained them for thousands of years, their faith. Not likely. Liberty, as WE know it, is OUR dream. The Egyptians are not familiar with it.
same here
I’m stunned that people on here still do not know that code pink is over there and radical left wing groups are there too
Not with the army in charge. People may die, but it will not be mob rule. Insurrection will be put down. Violent islamists will be shot.
Things WILL be tough for several weeks while the businesses get back to work and the markets go back online and the problems of inflation and lack of food, etc. that are going through the region are dealt with but the people have blown off a lot of steam, are going to go peacefully back to their homes and try to survive. The army will restore relative peace and the suffering will slowly ease as the countdown to the September elections begins. And they will be energetic elections for sure.
That's how I see it.
He doesn't realize that this was organized by US Marxists who cause chaos for a living.
I wouldn't waste your breath replying to him. He basically went to name calling questioning my education when I guarantee he does not have the amount of education and experience in politics that I do.
Anyone who thinks this is a good thing is completely delusional.
